Can you trick someone into sweetney, brown, duhon and a #1 for a big who can score? Otherwise, they are going to have to move one of them for what they need.

Chicago need to do some talking with Memphis and see what it will take to get Gasol on the roster. With a scoring threat in the post they will be incredible. I think that Gordon has more of the "Fan favorite" appeal since he's a scoring machine, but Deng is way more valuable. He's just very versatile and can defend just about anyone. His scoring has gone up dramatically the last few months too.

I think that a combo package of like Gordon, PJ Brown and the draft pick from NY might be inticing enough for a desperate Memphis.

As for my pics - I say Chicago in the east with Toronto as a darkhorse pick.
Dallas again in the west with Utah as my darkhorse.

The Suns and Raptors will meet in the Finals and there will be a titanic clash of both of Bryan Colangelo's brainchilds. :D

I would love to see this. Too bad the Raptors are not quite up to that level. It may very well be a 1st round matchup between the Raptors and Bulls. I don't think they have enough to take a best of 7 against the baby Bulls yet.

And to the basketball trolls, what the hell are you doing in this topic?

I predict Dallas/Phoenix vs. Pistons in the NBA finals. Oh, and the season is way past half way, its almost 2/3's of the way over.

with the addition of Eddie Jones...the Heat's perimeter defense is coming alive.

Last Sunday vs the Spurs..while both E. Jones and Posey on the floor together they allowed the Spurs to shoot 29% in the 4th quarter...this past Tuesday vs Portland...they allowed 33% shooting in the 4th quarter...

There's been rumors of trading Posey before the deadline....hope it doesn't happen.

Is it just me or are the Rockets just completely under the radar to like 95% of NBA viewers?

We're playing without a 7'6" guy that averages 25/10, how's that for scary.

it is scary, because it means when yao gets back the rockets might not be as good.

I love the Suns, but they seriously need Nash back to make a run at that #1 spot. A blind man could see how much Nash means to this team and it's been clearly evident these last couple games how much they need him, so if they run past Dallas in the second half of the season with him then Nash is an absolute LOCK for his 3rd MVP.

McGrady would be retiring by them time both of them are healthy enough to play at the same time.

Im a Mavericks and Hornets fan, so I'm happy about both of their performances, Hornets would have had a strong record had the line up been as satisfactory in the health department compared the Mavericks. Can't wait to see Stojakovic back in the game.

Right after All Star game, the Heat and Mavs will play. I'm sure it'll be on TV. How meaningful will that game be?

I think the Rockets will surprise some people in the West. Healthy Mcgrady & Yao, this season when they played together McGrady had back problems but Mcgrady has been playing at a high level since Yao went out. Yao should play even better with a healthy Mcgrady & vice-versa, can't double team both of em.

wanted to bump this thread to see people's perspective......

mine are the following...despite the devastating loss of Dwayne Wade...the Heat have won 8 out of 14 games...that's pretty damn good. Wade should be back for the last few games of the season. I'm hoping for a repeat of the ECF last season...vs the Pistons.

The West has the powerhouse 3....Mavs, Suns and Spurs. I still think the Spurs is the best team in the West...luckily the East doesn't have to play any of them until the finals.. Even though I wouldn't mind the Heat playing the Mavs in an exciting repeat finals....I think the Spurs will win the West....just too many weapons with Parker, Ginobli and Duncan....

Heat vs Spurs in the finals.

Miami has definitely been surprising without DWade. However, unless they get a healthy Wade, they won't get to the Finals, imo. Fortunately for them, the East is weak enough that they could reach the ECF's. I haven't checked out the playoff seeding situation lately, so I'm not sure if the Pistons and Heat would match up before the ECF's. If not, I suspect that we'll see a repeat matchup of Pistons/Heat. The Cavs and Bulls just aren't championship level teams yet.

what's up iamme brah! Looking forward to some good arguments with you this NBA playoff season. You Pistons did surprise me though...I thought the loss of Wallace would hurt....obviously it hasn't much....and Webber has been a nice addition...

Without Wade the Heat are done....toast...bye bye....but he should be back soon..and a 70% Wade is better than what the Heat have now. These old guys look tired in the 4th quarter....just check the last 4 or 5 games...they start hot...then die in the 4th.

If the Heat get the 3rd seed....and win throughout the playoffs and the Pistons do the same...they'll meet in the ECF....again.

Golden State better stay out of playoff contention or the Mavs are in trouble...the Warriors have been slapping them around for the past two years.

<----Mavs and Hornets fan...weird???

This year is turning out to be like the last couple years....

Miami and San Antonio sandbag the first 50 or so games and then drop the hammer the last 30.

The Spurs are looking GOOD right now. I don't care who wins in the west...I just know that the playoffs are going to be fun to watch in that conference. We all win.

The east...is well....pathetic. Chicago has been playing VERY strong ball the last month or so. They have played Detroit tough all season and have been hot/cold against Miami. Overall though I don't think that there is a team in the east they have a losing record against. Chicago *better* get out of the first round this year.
