Congrats, well done! Do you plan to run any more halfs or a full?We survived....Most brutal part of the race was waiting to start the run....then passing over a third of the runners on the course (weaving). By mile 4 on the course, my Garmin showed me at 4.6 miles just from running around the slow pokes.
I'm slow and lazy these days. I'm 6'4" and can carry extra weight easier than most without feeling bad. If I dropped weight, it'd be far easier to run distance. I'm talking about 15-20lbs.Congrats, well done! Do you plan to run any more halfs or a full?
Yeah...it was satire. I've run maybe 15 halfs and 3 fulls....a bunch of 10ks and a few 5ks...Wait...did you post a week before your half marathon on how to train for the half marathon??
Haha I figured as much, just wanted to make sure.Yeah...it was satire. I've run maybe 15 halfs and 3 fulls....a bunch of 10ks and a few 5ks...
My half marathon was more of a fun run than anything until mile 8. The race start had me delayed a long while, so my breakfast wore off 2-3 miles before I expected it to. That's the downside to being a big guy. You burn about 2k calories in a half and about 4k calories in a full.
I hover between 225-230 when I'm not running/training (which is less muscle mass, more fat)...but I'm 6'4". If I can ever stick with a schedule for 6 weeks, I'll cut 2lbs a week without too much trouble. If I'm really training, my weight can drop as low as 210-212..... When I pushed my mileage above 40 miles weekly, I started gaining 5-6 lbs of muscle in my legs..so My workout weight range seems to be 210-217....my fat weight range seems to be 225-235.Congrats OP. Running can be a really good time and you get healthy to boot.
If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh?
