I noticed that in the videos, the color on the walls and sky seem to be constantly morphing between green, purple-ish, and yellowish. Is something wrong with my Quicktime player? I just updated it too. Hmm..,..![]()

Any idea what VALvE is using for a game engine? If anything I would figure a highly modified version of the Q3 engine.. or maybe they finally went with an inhouse one? That doesnt seem like their style since they like to concentrate on game play more so.. but an inhouse one would make sense with TF2 up comming also... But seeing as we saw screenshots from TF2 along time ago, I would think they started working on that game from the original HL engine (but modding it too).. hoyiE!
I think it's called the "Source" engine. Built from the ground up by Valve, as far as I can figure.

It seems the year of the games is upon us.
UT2004 (looks lik eit could be hot, all that 2k3 was meant to be)
Deus Ex 2
HL2
Doom 3
Republic: The revolution (God game extreme maybe)
And those are just games with great innovation (RE2 allowing you to play through without killing anyone, UT2k4 bringing DM, vehicles and GFX to hopefully the right level, Doom 3 with its GFX, HL2 with AI/GFX and the storyline)
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head to rock the world, but who needs more?!
Oh, and the suggestion HL2 was based off the Q3 engine, I found that comment quite funny. Not even Valve could push an engine that much.

for those complaining about speeds, just install a download accelerator (i like star downloader, freeware) so you can have multiple connections at the same time... i was maxing out my connection that way (300KB/s+)![]()
