i don't think anyone will know for sure till sunday when we goto BB and check it out for ourselves

hmm, i heard about this deal from a post on cheapassgamer.com so I hope it is legit. bump for a "i'm not entirely sure" update.

I get the BB flyer in a free paper on Saturdays and HL2 was listed as 39.99. I am getting a copy of the game, I was thinking of picking it up till I saw this thread.

Deal is active now on bestbuy.com for $39.99. I bought this on black friday for $54.... Gotta price guarantee it now.

yeah, i did the same thing banking on the hope that it's price would get lower... guess i was right 😀

My cashier refused to honor my GGC. I asked her what was i buying and she responded "half life 2" and i asked what kind of product is it and she said "NOT a video game or video game software or video game accessory" I was shocked. So i said, try scanning the coupon and see if it works, and she refused.
then i said, go ask your manager, and she just had this "omg" look. She walks up to her manager who literally goes "Don't be stupid, it's video game related, use the coupon, and don't ask such a dumb question again"

at that point i felt pretty bad for her, no one deserves to be treated like that at work.
anyway i got HL2 for some odd 38 bucks. Thanks OP

Nah , she deserved that one.

I told a cashier she was dumb as a brick one can she started crying ..I felt prety bad but she litterally went from a bitch to a wimpering dog is 1 second flat. 🙂

I used to be able to use the gamers coupon but now the managers say it is VIDEO as in TV Xbox type games not PC... I argued about it and was told this is the last time last time so I dont bother anymore. Wont be long before no one can use it.

BTW, the employee's at BB are treated like crap by the managers and are only doing what they are told. If anything save your anger for the managers and give the employee's the some slack when possible.

This is not a thread crap.

Just a notice.

Some people that buy the Retail Half-Life 2 have reported issues with the "Securom" copy protection and/or the CD-Check code that Vivendi Universal has on the retail disc when attempting to play the game from a CD or DVD burner drive.

If you can get it, I personally recommend the Half-Life 2 package version (available over Steam), since no CD-Check is performed and/or there is no Securom, since you download it via Steam.

Just a notice.

Gentle

P.S. If you want to run Half-Life 2 with Texture Quality: High, you would be wise to have at least 768meg ram.

I had this problem, but it was a problem with STEAM. I had to uninstall STEAM and reinstall it so it could find the HL2 files.

Also he is right about the Ram rquirements. I am playing the game on medium quality cause I only have 512 megs ram, and on high quality there is a ton of hard drive thrashing.
