Half Life 2 39.99 at best buy STARTING 12/5

Also still $39.99 at Microcenter. Too bad CS: Source already has a speedhack and no votekick or anticheating measures 🙁

Leave it to cheaters to spoil a good experience. 🙁

i'll assume ``ggc'' in the topic summary means best buy's gamers gift card, which gives $5 off.

has anyone had problems using the GGC with PC games? my bestbuy (in san francisco) gave me no end of hassle when i did this for battlefield vietnam - they insisted that the GGC was for games only, not computer software, and by games only they meant software for game consoles. i made a fuss and they did some special manager's override, but they insisted that the GCC is only for console titles and not valid for pc games.

still, $45 is a deal.

this game has serious performance issues (stuttering) reported by many users

These are the people that are probably trying to run the game on a Celeron 566 cpu with 64 megs of memory.

oh and in response to the GGC, i tried it once at the BB in westwood, they said they wouldn't take it because it's a computer game and not a video game.....

Can anyone confirm if its currently at 39.99 or does it start on the 5th? Im heading to BB today! thanks OP 🙂

Is it me, or is BB usually having the best prices on newly released pc games?
Inly if you don't have a Fry's. 😛 Fry's almost always has new games on release day for $37.99.

hahaha

I went to the BB site and looked it up
and I saw a link that said, "Save $50!"

So hey I want to save $50 bucks and I click it to find out to save $50, I have to buy a $1,049.99 PC
But that alone doesn't qualify for saving $50 bux... you then have to buy another software title!

Talk about *HOT*
😀

They patched the stuttering last week.

It didn't work, according to a large number of of folks on a 300 page thread in Valve's official forum. Many with killer setups.

Does BestBuy have a price-matching thing after the purchase like some stores do?

Cause I bought it for $55 the day it came out.

ps. Why do people who have not experienced the stuttering problems complain about them? It's an amazing game, and it runs flawlessly on my modest computer.

most of the people who have stuttering need to defrag their harddrives.
