Absent minded or dumb? How about both? What kind of person forgets to remove the pump nozzle? I mean seriously. She heard it click off and decided her tank was full so she could drive off. That alone tells me she knew the nozzle was in the car. I mean unless she was at one of those experimental Shell stations that were built in the late 90's that had the robotic arm that used some sort of mapping program to know where your fuel door was, open it, take off the cap, fill the tank, put the cap back on, then close the fuel door.
I'm sorry....but driving off with the nozzle in the car is more than absent minded.

stfu about her being dumb... it's not about being dumb, it's just a matter of attention, we all have those times when we are not paying much attention to everything... it can happen, my dad owns a gas station and i see this happen at least 10 times a day... just because you don't see it often, doesn't mean people are dumb.

10 times a day? That's a bit excessive. I have a hard time believing that 10 people a day would do such a thing at one station or that your Dad has to replace 10 nozzles a day. I mean unless his station is next to a mental asylum. I have relatives that own gas stations and truck stops and in my entire life I've only heard of it happening 2 or 3 times at their various locations.

it's your choice to believe it or not... a city with 4 million people, 8 cars per minute, it's pretty understandable IMHO.

4 Bases x 4 pumps on every Base = 16

And gas that pumps extremely quickly. Or people that fill up whose tanks are already 9/10 full.

My brothers ex girlfriend did that once, but it was kinda the station attendant's fault.. Usually, you tell them how much you want, they put the pump in, and start pumping.. when it's done, they come back and take your money.
Well, the attendant came back and took the money before the pump was actually done, but she didn't realize it, and drove off.. lol

and u r an idiot, i dont remember mentioning anything about lines, this is a central gas station, not self service, and people usually prefer getting in line instead of driving to the next gas station which is 4 miles away... well anyways, it happens, just trust me... you can't expect people to give full attention all the time....
lol.. Yeah.. It's just normal to me.Originally posted by: anno

isn't oregon just about the only place left where that could happen? bein' an east coast
kind of gal, oregon is really low on my list of places I'd want to live, but.. that not being allowed
to pump your own gas thing as opposed to the impossible to find someone to pump it for you practice round here does make it kind of attractive.
