I wish every pitcher woudl just throw at him for the rest of the season.

He DID try to hit him with his first pitch and he got a warning.

When Carlos Oliveras asked if Barry Bonds would sign the ball from his 713th home run, Bonds smirked and said nothing.

Nice....nice.........

Dude, he's such a prick.. Snubbing one of his fans who happens to be active military personel. Class act that Bonds is :disgust: Screw him and his blind eye supporters... He's holding a freakin smokin gun and deserves the backlash he is recieving.

OK, I'm no fan of Bonds, but the fact that the guy is in the military is completely irrelevant and meant to elicit emotion. I don't think military personnel should be entitled to special treatment because of their job.

Dont recall a corked bat. He has also passed every drug test he has taken. Without any proof you are ASSuming he is guilty.

When has Bonds ever been consistantly nice to the media or fans? Never. Why would you expect him to change now?

go astros!!!

and you guys are idiots if you think he was trying to hit him on every pitch. he was throwing inside because bonds is worthless and has to crowd over the entire plate when he bats.

on that note, even with bonds hitting HRs the giants still crush the astros:(

mmhmm... one pitch behind his back, one that hits the bat, and the 5th one that hits Bonds himself. Either he was trying to hit Bonds or he sucks at pitching. but I'm thinking both

I don't expect jack squat crap from Bond's, I do like showing how big of a dick he is.

The game of baseball has been destroyed by him, Palmeiro, Giambi, McGuire, Sosa, Selig, Fehr, etc.. All these guys are dirtier than Courtney's crotch....

Bonds is a POS, no sympathy here. As each game goes on, his knees start to get worse and worse... That's what happens when you are carrying an extra 30lbs of muscle from age 35-39, his knee lig's couldn't sustain that extra weight. Can't wait until they completely give out, it won't be long now.

There's no assuming he's guilty. He has admitted as much. "Yah I took that but I thought it was flax seed oil." B effing S. Read Game of Shadows. There are drug schedules. Everyone around him was involved in steroids.

You can't even preface statements by saying "if only half of that is true" when describing Bonds' drug use because if only half of what was in that book was true the authors would be up to their necks in libel suits. It was all true. Bonds took steroids. Probably still does.

If you had read the book, or for that much followed the whole Balco case, you would know that the whole point of being a Balco client was that they had a steroid regimine that was untestable. And Balco was only one small outfit who happened to have a few big named clients. In fact, one of the main points of the book was that only the morons ever test dirty.

So to say that bonds has never tested dirty is kind like saying a specific alcoholic has never driven drunk because they were never convicted of a DUI.

As to some earlier coments about Springer being an asshat for hitting Bonds...

1. Bonds crowds the plate. It's his way of intimidating the pitcher.
2. Springer was having nothing of it. He threw a shot across the bow and then pitched inside. The pitcher's version of what Bonds was doing. When a pitcher pitches inside to a guy who is crowding the plate the result is inevitable. Both guys are playing chicken.
3. Bonds wears more padding than a hockey goalie. Hit him all you want... he wont feel it.

Bonds wears padding on his arm, not his back. Even if he was to wear padding there, I don't care who you are, if a baseball is coming at you 90+ mph and hits you, you will feel it

You know what, I'm glad pitchers are walking Bonds like mad this year. He isn't hitting for sh!t, and his walks are helping the team more than his regular at bats. I just want the team to win, if Bonds does well too then that's great too.

However, considering you can detect steroids months after taking them, and he's never been tested positive, is very interesting to me. Besides, how do steroids help your hand eye coordination or eye? Bonds in his prime (2000-2004) was absolutely unstopable, he never swung at a bad pitch and crushed every single mistake. Believe me when I say that steroids weren't the reason he was successful. I've seen easily over 1000 Bonds at bats over the last several years, it was superior talent and intelligence as a baseball player.

Bonds is just the scapegoat for this whole steroids thing because he's the best player of this generation, period. You didn't see Sosa, McGuire, or Palmeiro get the ridicule that Bonds gets. Besides, during the time periods Bonds was supposedly on roids, they weren't against the rules of baseball.

1) It doesn't matter if they weren't against the rules of baseball. It's a federal crime to possess and use steroids.

2) Bonds is not THE best player of this generation pre-roids. Rodriguez, Pujols, Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens (who may have even taken steroids himself), and a host of others are comparable to Bonds pre-roids.

3) Didn't you read what he posted? The steroids he took were designed to not show up in tests. Add onto that that MLB didn't even test for HGH (which Bonds was almost definitely using) and of course he's never going to test positive for them.

4) Steroids will help your hand-eye coordination/eyes in the sense that it helps preserve your mucles. There is no doubt about it that Bonds had one of the best eyes in baseball during the early 90s. However, because he managed to get stronger and faster (in the sense of bat speed) later in career, as opposed to getting slower as basically everyone who has ever played the game has, that is why he's been so effective at the plate. A great eye coupled with almost super-human bat speed = record breaking. Add onto that the steroids also help your muscles recover much more quickly, and help prevent injury while on them, you get to train harder with less down-time.

Only in the case of morons. Once again, the whole reason Balco was consulting with athletes was to tell them what and when to take to avoid detection, as well as to create things that were undetectable. Nobody even knew that cream and clear existed until somebody dropped an anonymous tip to the national anti-doping lab and told them what to look for. And growth hormone requires a blood test, which is not part of the MLB testing program AFAIK. So that's still effectively untestable.

Besides, how do steroids help your hand eye coordination or eye? Bonds in his prime (2000-2004) was absolutely unstopable, he never swung at a bad pitch and crushed every single mistake. Steroids' main effect in this case was as hormone replacement therapy for a 36-40 year old man who should have been in decline.

Yeah life's not fair. And they're not going for the record, and there's far more evidence on Bonds than there is on Sosa or McGwire. For all the sh!t he's had to deal with, I wonder if he could go back and do it again, would he take the natural road and simply play it out and collect the 600 HR he would have achieved drugfree.

And steroids were against MLB rules for at least part of the time that he was taking them.
