Bonds hit by pitch; fans give Springer standing O
Associated Press

HOUSTON -- Barry Bonds was plunked in the right shoulder to end a wild at-bat against Astros right-hander Russ Springer on Tuesday night.

With the San Francisco slugger leading off the fifth inning, Springer's first pitch sailed behind Bonds' back, drawing a warning from plate umpire Joe West.

The next four pitches all came inside, including one that hit Bonds' bat handle on the third delivery for strike one. The fifth pitch hit Bonds as he turned to protect himself.

That's when Springer and manager Phil Garner got ejected -- and the Houston crowd gave Springer a standing ovation.

Classic
What do you expect, they're Texans. Hell the only thing they'd probably enjoy better is the public execution of a Retard.. or electing him President.

The pitcher deserves a suspension. He is clearly an asshat.

It's safe to say he'll probably get SOME sort of fine.

He's a douche. If he was afraid of being the one to give up a home run, he should have just intentionally walked him.

Is he a RHP or LHP?

Wow, that was a massively clueless and idiotic generality to say.
Are you really this moronic, or do you just play an imbecile online?

His use of steroids is being addressed through the proper channels; he needs no extra "mound justice". He's not the nicest guy in the world? So? He doesn't have to be. Last I checked he was getting paid to play ball, not sign autographs. It's an extraneous activity many participate in but which isn't necessary. If sentiment against him drops enough, fans will watch less, the team will rake in less revenue and he'll earn less money. If you're going to plunk a guy fine, but tossing one behind his back and knocking him off the plate 4 times before doing so is being a douche. At least he didn't throw at Bonds' head.

Wow, in that case we must add your ability to be as witty as an inebriated monkey to your vitae.

Personally I think your strong point is how you are able to make asinine posts with sweeping generalizations, yet seemingly not care how obtuse and closed-minded you present yourself. That takes talent. . . of some sort.

I think every pitcher should hit Bonds on every at-bat with a 90+ mph fastball.
