I microwaved a CD-R for five secs. It went pop fuzzzzzt sizzle. The disc looks like dried ground split up into many islands.

pic, the first one This one isn't too exciting

Update:

Ok, I fried another CD and this time I made a video clip in ASF format.

New video clip! made on 2-26-02 It might complain about new codec or something, but it should work. The clip is 8second long with sound and is ~185KB

Definitely fun to watch.

Guaranteed not to be repost since I just personally made the clip today.

I made it into .html so you guys don't have to bother with drag the e icon.

Now that's Geocitie(reads: I need some hosting support), so I'm expecting bandwidth overflow in that case try my spare webspace(slow):

alternative site(extremely slow)

I hope there wasn't any good p0rn on that disc!!!! You naughty boy!!!

Stick a tire in there and tell us what happens.

lol! 😀

You seem to put a lot of things into the microwave that don't belong there.

I know what a Pyromaniac is, would this be a Micromaniac.

Micromaniac!!!! Haaaaaaaa!!!

I can see it now.......Halt young man, and drop that microwave. Honest officer, I did not start that tire on your car on fire!!!!

Actually this isn't unheard of. Read somewhere on the net that it's a good way for data destruction before you discard your CD's. So the garbage man won't get to your pr0n 😀

*sigh*

took ya this long? I microwave ever AOL CD and coaster I have and surreptitiously glue them to my spanish teacher's blackboard. For some reason she doesnt like that....

I spent a whole afternoon microwaving things once. The CDr's are ten times better than aol cds. The best by far was the lightbulb. We tried a battery (whilst hiding behind a cement wall 20 feet away), but it didn't do anything. There were a dozen other things, but i don't remember what they were(side effects???)

hrmf.. I should try microwaving a spindle of full 50pk CD.

dude, if you have grapes do this:

I dunno if you need green grapes, but I know they work with them (we praticed in Video Production class at my HS with cd's and grapes in microwave 🙂)
Alright, get your grapes, and a knife. Cut the grapes with the long side being vertical, so it's taller than it is fatter. Cut the grape down the middle of it vertically, but don't cut it all the way through. Now, since you didn't cut it al the way, there should be some of the "skin" from each half connecting the two. Put the grape newly cut sides facing up, for 30 seconds in the microwave! You get sparks, small fireballs and coolness. Plus, the worst that happens is that is just smells a little, and you have some grape juice in the microwave which can be wiped off when you take the grape out 🙂

Try microwaving a lighted cigarette. Literally lighting it (so it's burning with a flame) hastens the effect. If you're a nonsmoker and can't stand the smell you can try foodstuff or incense.

Cheers!

DO a lit match, held above the bottom of the microwave with 2 other matches. You get nice plasma effects! Also try a lightbulb! AH! brigher than the sun!
