"This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton's privacy,” Kate's lawyer Lawrence Shire said. “We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."

Do you think he peek even a little?

It's the naivete of statements like that I find hilarious. It's game over, man. Once those pics leaked there were millions of copies within minutes. Game over. Good look pursuing millions of people for copying some nudes. :awe:

Also in the news... Victoria Justice, who said her photos were fake, is now taking legal action but not confirming that they're real.

Millions of dollars and their PR teams can't train these kids on an approach better than deny deny deny.

I have a better one for you: Shut up shut up shut up.

I hear that works even better than the whole "deny deny deny". Keeping people wondering would do WONDERS better for you than coming out on Twitter saying "Oh dat ain't me!"

Does it really take half a brain to realize this? Or am I alone in thinking that keeping quiet is the best option for keeping the best reputation?

I wonder who she is going to take legal action against. The hacker known as 4chan or maybe the hacker known as TPB? Is there any news out there on who actually orchestrated these security breaches and initially released all this? Besides a 15 yo kid on 4chan....I haven't read much yet on who is responsible for this.

I like JLaw's approach, just admit it was you and condemn those who leaked the photos. People like Victoria Justice just make themselves look silly by denying pictures that are obviously them.

Was she not one of the ones that compared people seeing her stupid selfies to being raped and whatnot?

Maybe that was just...most other women. That shit is revolting.

It's like someone telling you their family member just died, and you're like, 'yeah, bro, this one time, I was eating an ice cream sandwich, and I accidentally dropped it on the ground. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!'

WHY even damn the person who leaked the photo? If anything these celebrities need to take responsibility and admit it was their own stupidity. There is a million sayings for why it is your fault that a thief steals your wallet when you leave it out for them to steal.

Putting nude photographs of yourself on a public cloud server? I use to go on those kinds of hunts with Photobucket accounts back when I had time. Come on man. It's bad enough they are doing something that is the equivalent to pre-teen behavior, but trying to pass on the blame to others for your own actions is something that women seem to be great at.

Its just like the people who listen to the bank's claim that their money is safe. BOOM, Kony 2012, Bin Laden and Nikolai Volkov pop up through the floor of the vault in a mole machine. They rich, you poor, shoulda kept your money in the sock drawer.

In reality though, the majority of the population hasn't come to grips with the fact that if you have something valuable online, someone will find a way to take it from you. Apple, Google, Microsoft, cell carriers, etc etc all want you to stream and use the cloud. When a company offers a service like this the understanding would hopefully be that the files would be secure. If these companies were honest they would add a sort of language to the user agreement that would admit that there is no way to promise anything at all as far as safety goes. That would make the service worthless though, so they just don't bring it up. If anything these celebrity types are just guilty of not having a clear understanding on how their celebrity status makes them a target online and what people are actually capable of when it comes to stealing data.

Its a shame that it takes these kinds of things to wake people up, but computer security is a pretty boring topic. You find out by knowing people who know and bring it up as a conversation topic. Even then, it seems alien to anyone who doesn't undertand or care to learn. "By the way Jennifer, as im painting you blue here for the next 3 hours, can i make a suggestion? Don't put naked selfies on your online storage." A shame, but pretty understandable.

Not sure if it's been said in here yet (probably has) but the videos of Jessica Brown Findlay are downright gross/hilarious/embarrassing.

She's gotten the worst of this so far I think.

...
In case you don't know, she's on vid asking her b/f if she can sniff his dirtstar. Now the whole world knows she enjoys the scent of man-ass.

You clearly don't understand the hack. They weren't "put" on the server and the server wasn't "public" (even if it is publicly used). iCloud photo backups are set up automatically for backing up your Apple devices. It does have sharing functions, but personal/private access between personal iDevices and backup without a PC is the primary purpose.

It's part of the whole post-PC movement when Apple stopped requiring a PC for activation and such. The same functions iTunes allowed had to be offered with cloud services.

I didn't know Jason Verlander was a woman.

Seriously people. Get out of the house. Walk around somewhere with other people. You'll see some equally or better looking women with your own eyes.

Here, quick example, just some random chick I don't know from some event I don't remember that I happen to take a cell shot off (probably nice hair):

You're not fully aware of the issue. Some of these photos appear to have been obtained by "guessing" these people's passwords, obtaining the backup image of their phones off of Apple's servers, restoring that backup to another iPhone or iPad device, and then extracting the images from there.

Sure, weak password and security questions, got it. But it's not as "simple" as they took raunchy photos and inadvertently shared them where someone could readily obtain them.
