No it is not. Early Access on the PC is supposed to be imminent, but there is no date given as of yet. It's basically in the "when it's ready we will release it" stage.

There will be an early access release on steam which will cost money to get into just like how DayZ is and it should be released on steam in the month as it sounds.

Its not just like how DayZ is. DayZ is not F2P. H1Z1 is F2P.

So this is supposedly hitting early access on steam on January 15th.

And requiring a purchase... I suppose one could argue that it would keep the riff raff out of a an alpha stage stage development game but still...

Game still says it is f2p on release, we will see.

I'm still trying to figure that one out. You charge people to play the game before it is done, but once those people who have paid do your work of finding all bugs and problems, you give the game away???

I really hope H1Z1 delivers what DayZ didn't.

I played the mod a lot, like it a lot, got hyped up with the promised fixes in SA, quit playing and start waiting on SA, just bought DayZ SA last month just to realize it's has basically the same or more problems than when I played the mod years ago.

Same for me except I skipped the SA.

I just want an open world like DayZ with the ability to do/kill what I want without all the god forsaken bugs.

I bought it when Rocket left the project, dev were speeding up the change logs, couple of updates within months, I thought it has to be better now...

Today's release has been an embarrassment at every level for SOE.

First, game isn't released at midnight. Okay, fine.

Release time set for 10:30am pacific.

Release time pushed back to 12:00pm pacific.

Release time pushed back to 1:00pm pacific.

Release time pushed back to 1:30pm pacific.

Release time pushed back to 2:30pm pacific.

Finally released some time between 2:30 and 3pm.

Within 30 minutes, all SOE login servers for all games stop responding.

Turns out about 22,000 H1Z1 buyers, having finished their download and began slamming the login servers like a pack of ... well, hungry zombies, crashed the login server.

Problem is, SOE was dumb enough not to have separate authentication servers for their games. When the H1Z1 flood hit, every single SOE game login auth request became FUBAR and nobody already logged in or wanting to change zones in certain other games had any success.

Took SOE about another 30 minutes to get the error message changed to something acknowledging the issue and that they're working on it.

As of about 6:45pm pacific, SOE notice says that new login hardware should be online in the next 30 minutes or so. Good freaking grief, Sony.

Not sure of any people that hit it out of the park on release these days. I'm holding my breath but I really hope they have a nice game once it's fully out and polished.

Yes and no. I was able to play for about 30 minutes. I was clicking play every 5 or 10 minutes just to check if the auth servers were fixed. Suddenly, it let me in. Woohoo!

The server list was HUGE. Alphabetical, server names were names of items or concepts related to the genre with various mixtures of the rules in this Legend.

I ended up with some artifacting after respawn. I hit escape and the normal game menu didn't appear so I couldn't quit. I had to kill the process and relaunch. However, when I got to the server selection, this is what I saw:

I have heard a lot of people saying this is a pay to win game. To those who are playing is this true? Also is their issues logging in and stability issues?
