So now that school has let out all the high school douches have invaded my gym. It bugs me to no end how they have to respect for other in the gym. I go to a small gym so 7-10 people can make it crowded. With that being said, they huddle up together and all watch as one of the 7 lift, leave weights all over, take stuff that is being used without asking, change the music and crank it up so that they basically have to yell at each other to hear, turn fans on, crowd me while I am lifting and the list just goes on.

talk to management? or politely ask them to knock it off, pick up, be courteous?

i'm sure it sucks, but unless you or someone else says something, it won't just magically get better. just a suggestion. 🙂

Summer at the local university gym....all the guys are gone.

Downside, all of the college girls are gone too.

What Niki said, you gotta bitch about it.

The upside, hopefully, they'll figure out it's hard and stop going after a week or 2.

Complaining wont do anything as the owner is big on the high school kids coming. The last few years they only lasted a week or two so I am hoping for that again.

that's how it is with the gym. these are the other times you should lay low:

-January (people trying to stick to their resolutions)
-May (people getting beach body / summer ready)
- ~month after school lets out (as noted already)

The only things that bother me are a)goofing off on a rack / bench for an hour. You are not a professional body builder. Spending an hour doing 30 sets of 2 is stupid. GTFO of my way. Let me do my quick warm up and a few sets and move on. b) not racking the weights. You are at the gym; don't be a lazy prick. and mostly c)excessive talking. This is not a social gathering. I don't need to hear you across the gym flapping your gums. If you spent as much time working out as you do standing around chatting, you wouldn't need to spend an hour per workout.

High school girls showed up today so the boys had to put on the tough face for them. They took it to a whole new level. Kept telling this really small girl that she could squat more and more. Wasnt using collars, got stuck, weight started to slide off and nobody tried to help her. I told the owner he might want to step in before somebody gets messed up in his gym.

that sh!t is stupid.

when the younger know it alls come in and do stupid stuff like that, I act like a hard ass and stand over them and "watch". I have no problem calling them out on things. It's one thing to have a good time while working out, it's another to pull dumb acts that could hurt people

My "tip" was to put the collars on so they dont smash themselves with a weight falling off. But you are right.
