I know a lot of people who "pop the collar" if you will. So what, they do it, why do the rest of you get so worked up about it? There are a lot worse fashion trends out there.

Altho I must say that I have heard of people popping thier collar for practical purposes...for example if its extremely sunny and you want to protect your neck from the sun...and if its extremely windy and you can keep the draft out.

If you're wearing a polo shirt to a beach then I can understand. But that's the only exception that I can think of.

I've never seen anyone above high school age "pop" their collar. I also see people of that age wearing all sorts of other ridiculous styles. Huge baggy pants, absurdly long and large white t-shirts, long, unkempt hair, retro-style baseball hats that are 4 sizes too big with a perfectly flat brim cocked off to the side at an aribtrary angle... nothing about the way teenagers - males at least - dress makes much sense. But then again I think about the way I dressed when I was that young and I shudder. People probably thought the way I looked back then was... well, not the greatest.

They'll grow out of it in a few years. They'll learn to conform or they'll never get good jobs.

yeah, but i think my friend was stranded waiting for a bus in the sun...when he proceeded to pop his collar despite what his conventional wisdom told him. He told me he was extremely satisfied with popping his collar and said he would definetly do it agian should the situation arise. However, he called the the next frat brother douchebag we saw a tool cause he had his collar popped inside the restaurant we were in.

Actually, theres only a select few who are cool enough to do it, anyone else who does is laughed and stared at as a poser of the real cool people.

Thats the way it went at my HS anywa,y and i was ony both ends of that stick too (with more than just hte pop the color issue)

sorry bro but baggy pants, jerseys, long tees and the lot are a cultural statement, there is a reason behind some of that stuff, while popped collars are a fad.

look up why black people in the ghetto wear white t's if you really care to find out and not just make general statements. i dont agree with it, but there is a reason for it.
