What about guys that wear two shirts and pop the collar on the inside one and leave the collar down on the outside one.

I have no idea where the gum thing comes from.....I've never seen that
I know a lot of people who "pop the collar" if you will. So what, they do it, why do the rest of you get so worked up about it? There are a lot worse fashion trends out there.

Like what? For modern "pop-culture" it's certainly one of the most ridiculous "fashions" I've seen.
The popped-collar is like the mullet...only a select few think it's actually cool...the rest stare and laugh at the idiocy.

Except for the girls they tend to end up going home with. *shrug*

Nope. Not at all. But the guys that are "so gay" and "such losers" for doing it are usually guys that get girls. You can make fun of their fashion all you want, but its pretty stupid to try to make other assumptions, that are usually false.

Do you wear your shirts like that? I think you must because you always come to their defense when somebody mentions how lame it looks.Originally posted by: Deeko

No one called them "gay" or "losers" (at least I didn't). Everyone falls for bad-fashion every once in a while. I'm sure you all remember "No Fear" T-shirts! HAHA.
But...about your "girls go home with guys with popped collars" comment...RIGHT...the popped collar has nothing to do with it...I could walk into a bar wearing my PJs and bring a smokin-ass hot girl home...wait...I have...

anyway, the popped collar is ridiculous no matter how you look at it. and Deeko is defending them cause he's a collar popping tool.
Altho I must say that I have heard of people popping thier collar for practical purposes...for example if its extremely sunny and you want to protect your neck from the sun...and if its extremely windy and you can keep the draft out.

If you're wearing a polo shirt to a beach then I can understand. But that's the only exception that I can think of.

I've never seen anyone above high school age "pop" their collar. I also see people of that age wearing all sorts of other ridiculous styles. Huge baggy pants, absurdly long and large white t-shirts, long, unkempt hair, retro-style baseball hats that are 4 sizes too big with a perfectly flat brim cocked off to the side at an aribtrary angle... nothing about the way teenagers - males at least - dress makes much sense. But then again I think about the way I dressed when I was that young and I shudder. People probably thought the way I looked back then was... well, not the greatest.
They'll grow out of it in a few years. They'll learn to conform or they'll never get good jobs.
