with RAM prices so low. That's really nothing to brag about. You would have impress me a year ago.

<< What do you mean Win98 can't use more than 128mb??

You'r full of sh!t.

Win9x cannot effectively use more than 128 megs of RAM, thats a documented fact. Not sh!t.

<< Damn, you Sharky-ers sure do get impressed easily. >>

I heard that bro.

WOW lookee its another cobbler computer thrown together with cheap parts and full of freeware.
I am so impressed will you build me one too???

512 is nothing these days, 512 MB of top brand PC150 can be had for well under $200.

I had 256 MB of Mosel Vitelic Revision 2 when it cost $190 a stick.

well, its known that win9x doesn't effectively use memory much higher than 128.. I think... he isn't full of sh!t... its just the way you look at it

And you are running win98, you can't even use more than 128 megs.

Oh no, not that old myth again.

With ram prices so low, I am running 512 on 2 pcs at home but my laptop has 256 (which is plenty for that). I don't think windows 98 utilizes ram like 2000 can so if you have 512 on a Win98 box, you would be fine I think with even just 256mb.

<< The pricewatch prices you listed are for generic crap. This was Crucial RAM, the best, bought directly from Crucial. >>

Well I bought my crucial ram from a middle man, damn, I must suck, because mine didn't come directly from crucial, holy freaking crap, i'm stupid cause my generic ram isn't crucial bought from a middle man that used to work at crucial but got fired for selling ram with the crucial name on it that wasn't really crucial.

g0d...

Windows 98 works great up to 768 MB, after that you run into strange problems (like out of memory messages whenever you try to open a command prompt). I run 98SE with 512, & in spite of what some people may say I could tell the difference from 128 to 256, & from 256 to 512.

The prices on Pricewatch are for RAM that was not made by Crucial. If you bought your Crucial RAM from a middle man, thats fine. You still have some HQ RAM.

how much did your ram cost?
i got 2 sticks of 256mb pc133 crcuial ram for $89 a while ago.

so i can brag too.
haha

I can brag three, running 512Mb of CAS2 PC133Mhz Crucial
SD-RAM here. Haven't had to use virtual memory in Photoshop for months
now.

PG-

That doesn't say anything about Win98 not being able to use more then 128mb. It says that there may be a problem ABOVE 512mb and that it can only access a max of 4gb.
