It's not that the wife gets everything in a divorce, it's too often the guy caves in in court and then spins the story.

My ex fiancee pulled this. The kicker was I was in college so all the bills were in her name (I wasn't working)...she lied about her income from day one and was stockpiling money. When I was set to graduate, she immediate bought a new Mustang GT with a ton down and put a downpayment on a townhouse.

Two days later while we were spliting up I left for school at 8am, got back around 11am and everything including my dog was gone save her ring and my computer (she deleted all my pics off it of the dog and my other pets).

The thing that really sucked was I couldnt get anything turned back on since she was still one the lease and they'd need her to agree to switch responsibility.

So I just called old g/fs and met new ones...I had places to sleep every night.

KARMA bonus was she got humped and dumped last year and has a kid out of it and since she has no support is losing her home.

Maybe I will call her for some oral in exchange to toss her a twenty.

Crack has brought down the price of a blowjob. If your paying her $20, your probably paying too much.

Last I heard, $10 was the going rate.

My brother is a cop, so I get to hear about all kinds of stuff like that.

When she moved out, he should have changed the locks.

Then she could say that she was thrown out, not only does she get everything but he'd probably get charged too. Then again, she could just throw her key away and state the same thing... either way the man always loses.

Don't you mean instinctive? And if you do mean instinctive...wouldn't that be the opposite of learned behavior?

im not gramicly purfict, and this form has alot of peeple that don no the write wurds, punctwayshun, and no spel to good, but they intelgent.

Translation:

I'm not saying I'm grammatically perfect, but this forum has a lot of people that don't know the right words, misuse/don't use punctuation, and can't put up a good showing at a 2nd grade spelling bee. Sadly, I know for fact that most of them think they are intelligent...

If the woman moves out and takes the kids with her, do NOT do anything stupid like changing the locks. All your going to do is make yourself look stupid in the courtroom.

Changing the locks when the children are outside the home shows a lack of respect on your part. Your just going to piss the judge off when it comes out in court.

Woman on stand in courtroom - judge, my kids and I were locked out of the house. The children needed clothes and something to eat, and we were locked out of our home. <insert sobbing here>

Judge - looks and you and thinks your a sorry piece of trash.

Yeah he spelled "instinctive" wrong which isn't a huge deal but he didn't even use the word properly.

I believe the word that you are unsuccessfully groping for is "you're." As in "now we really know that you're a Texan."

It's sad how divorces work. I never understood why it's always the woman that gets everything. In some cases it's not the man's fault the divorce happened.

There's a couple I know who got divorced maybe a year ago or so, they owned a business. When the wife left, she got everything including all the money in the business account. The rule of thumb says it should be 50/50 but that seems to be rare case. The guy is lucky if he's even left with anything.

That's one of the many reasons I don't want to get married. If by chance I marry some crazy bitch, I could be left with nothing. I've worked hard for everything I have, and a divorce is the fastest way to lose it all. Even a B&E would do less damage, and at least the law would be on my side in that case.

The guy must have had a great lawyer. LOL.

One of the latest episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm this season shows Larry David switching divorce lawyers b/c the guy wasn't a real Jew, even though he had a Jewish name. He goes with a scruffy true Jewish lawyer who defended him at a salad bar. Larry also convinces the owner's of the Dodgers to also switch divorce lawyers to this other lawyer due to the "last name sham". The end result is they lose everything. The Dodgers owner punches Larry in the face for losing the Dodgers due to the shitty lawyer Larry recommended.

I've found it's actually more that the productive spouse gets screwed, not necessarily the man.

I had an ex whose mother was finally getting divorced from her lazy, no good, parasitic husband. He wasn't an abuser or anything like that but he was a total bum who never held down a job and pretty much just sat around all day long. He didn't get everything, but he did receive half of everything she'd managed to earn and accumulate over the time they were married. It was pathetic.

Once she was living somewhere else, I would have changed the locks and added a few more security items.

We don't have the fully story of what led to the divorce... but her moving out of the house is a good move legally for the guy at least.

Yep. Generally whoever moves out gets f'ed. Since (stupid) guys are usually the ones to move out, they usually get the shaft.

I'm not sure how it works in the U.S., but if she stole weapons from him, isn't that kind of a big deal?

It depends on the state, when the gun was acquired, etc. She could very well be a joint owner of the property under the law and could not be charged with theft.

Good 'old community property states.

This is just another reason every man should have a nice big gun safe where he can keep all his really valuable stuff. The bitch isn't going to get it moved out why you are gone. A least it provides you the protection needed to give you time to take your personal stuff to a better place for safe keeping. The minute you even discuss a divorce with your wife should be on the same day you remove all your good stuff to your parent's or close friends place.
