True funny story. Guy knows getting divorce soon, just waiting on his wife to get lawyer and split everything up. Wife was not living at house for while now was living with her mom. Guy comes home everything is gone like damn near everything, curtains, guns, computers, beds, kids toys, kids clothes, dishes light bulbs, Tv's, basicly a empty house minus few things. Only thing left is few bathroom items his clothes and some junk.

What should he worry about most? Do you think her lawyer really told her to take everything from the house and leave it empty? Interesting events goes to show one that if you know something is going bad then take your most important stuff and sell it or hide it off location. Also sound like good idea to not get married to psycho's. LOL!!!!!!!!! hahahah i feel bad for him but i knew she was bad news from day one.
Any questions? ideas? funny posts sure why not keep them coming i see how alot of threads get wild wonder if this one will.

I think violence against women is a bannable offense here, so all I'd say is he should give her a big hug.

We don't have the fully story of what led to the divorce... but her moving out of the house is a good move legally for the guy at least.

Buy a divorce lawyer a couple of drinks sometime and sit back and listen. On a scale of 0-100 (with 100 being the most bizarre human behavior possible) this story doesn't even get out of the single digits. And don't even get me going on the cases involving children.

There is a very small but obnoxious percentage of the population that will not let go in a divorce, and continue with the motions and hearings for decades later. Divorce lawyers love them, they are like an annuity.

If wife denies taking everything, call the police, have a police report filed, then call the insurance company. If she tells the insurance that she did not take the stuff, and it comes out later that she did, the insurance company can take legal action against her.

My ex-wife cleaned out the house and to said everything was stolen - that way she did not have to divide anything up.

This is a good reason to have serial numbers stored outside the home. Maybe write down all of the serial number and email them to your gmail or yahoo mail account.

In my case, when my ex-wife did not return the items, the value of the items was taken out of her part of the house equity. I ended up getting close to $8,000 - $9,000 of her part of the house equity because she refused to divide the property.

This, it would be good to have it officially documented.

This thread has inspired me to write down every serial number in the house, in plain view of my wife.
🙄

It's sad how divorces work. I never understood why it's always the woman that gets everything. In some cases it's not the man's fault the divorce happened.

There's a couple I know who got divorced maybe a year ago or so, they owned a business. When the wife left, she got everything including all the money in the business account. The rule of thumb says it should be 50/50 but that seems to be rare case. The guy is lucky if he's even left with anything.

That's one of the many reasons I don't want to get married. If by chance I marry some crazy bitch, I could be left with nothing. I've worked hard for everything I have, and a divorce is the fastest way to lose it all. Even a B&E would do less damage, and at least the law would be on my side in that case.

I did not have the serial numbers of my more expensive firearms stored away from the home. So when they "came up missing", I did not have anything to give the insurance company.

One of the firearms was worth about $2,500, it was an H&K SP89. They currently sale for close to $5,000.

I would have loved to seen my ex-wife hung for insurance fraud, but I did not have the serial numbers to back anything up.

🙄

How are you phrasing the reason on why you are doing this? 🙂

A) I need to write down these serial numbers in case we ever get robbed and need them.

B) I need to write them down in case you decide to leave me and strip the house clean.

Don't mind him, he just hates and doesn't trust his wife...

You know, writing down the serial numbers and storing them outside the home (maybe on a web host or something) is not a bad idea at all. Mostly in case of theft. Would not do anything for a divorce though.

Also if you slightly suspect a divorce coming or things are rough, not a bad idea to start putting money into a swiss account. It's the only thing you'll have left.
