Please accept my condolences.

As for what you can say or do for the wife/widow? A big hug, a card, some flowers and a "I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a good man and loved you very much" goes a long way.

Also she is going to be in some serious shock/depression so taking her some food can help 'cause she isn't going to be eating/sleeping much. Your circle of friends are going to be her support system for a while...make sure she uses it and you guys are there for her.

I think uh, Geekbabe thought the mother and baby died in the crash as well? Otherwise her comment doesnt make sense at all.

Anyhow, thats a horrible story Presence, I hope the mom stays strong.

That is just terrible. :( My condolences Presence.

This is going to be so terrible on the child. His birthday is also the anniversary of his fathers death. :(

How about the motorist that saved the newborn. GJ

But man the father wasn't good under pressure at all,
Deliver the baby or keep my eye on the road.

there's always a reason and maybe it turned out to save the baby's life?

What a tragic story :( There is not much more you can say than "sorry", but I'm sure she will like to hear good things you can mention about her husband, and any help you can provide for her and the baby. Meals, errands, stuff around the house, would be super helpful to a new mom with a newborn, and being newly widowed would be an awful lot to face at once.

That ranks up there with two friends of mine who committed suicide...a terrible tragedy indeed.

i honestly hope TP does this for that woman because that is the best advice you could possibly give. just in the last month, i have seen first hand how helping out a new mom will mean the world to her. my sister is so happy to have my take out the trash, cut the grass, do the dishes, etc. it takes an hour of my day and lets her relax.

i cant believe this man.. :( i wouldnt even want to live if i was that woman. that is so sad.

I saw this story on the news this morning. How sad for her that what should have been the happiest day of her life has turned out to be the saddest.

Wow. I heard about this on the radio this morning. Small world you knew the guy. :( Now the wife is faced with one of the most wonderful experiences in life in having a child and one of the most sorrowful having lost her husband literally at the same time. Truly awful. *sigh*

That's a sad story.

You guys need to get off of Geekbabe's figurative nuts. She obviously was trying to say something nice but typed it poorly.

I always had the feeling you were disturbed, this solidifies it. Seek help.
