America will only be safe when all the rednecks have killed each other off. We should really be handing guns out for free in red states to anybody who wants one. Give them the power to solve our problems for us

I don't think a redneck has gone on an actual rampage yet. They seem to be the only ones that actually hunt animals with their rifles.

If you read the witness account then you know the dude didn't just drive up and shoot the guy as a vengeance killing. If you do then you are being deliberately obtuse. The armed bystander was in the process of leaving the parking lot of the restaurant when he saw what was happening. Instead of leaving other innocent people to be shot he chose to turn around and confront the shooter knowing he himself maybe be shot and killed if he did this. He and others gave the shooter ample warning to drop his weapon. The shooter made the decision not to drop his weapon and he started shooting at the armed bystander. The armed bystander returned fire.

ah, what I read is that the bystander witness reported a guy getting out of his car, moving around to the trunk to open it and grab again, and then shot the guy after a brief standoff. It was confusing reporting, being that they just quoted the witness relating the events in conversation.

I expect more details to come out. You can't really go by one witness's account but that's all we have so far for this incident.

More details. According to law enforcement there were two armed bystanders, not just one. Both were in the parking lot and saw the shooting incident. They both went to their locked trunks and got handguns. Both confronted the shooter. The bystanders did not know each other. One has military experience and the other is a security guard. The DA will decide if any charges will be brought against the two bystanders for shooting the shooter.

And since we are in bazarro land, the shooter was licensed as an armed security guard, which authorized him to carry a firearm.

...yeah but it's that I couldn't even follow the account. It was quoted directly, and it was all over the place, making very little sense.

Hey, good to know he was a responsible gun owner, then!

I doubt most of the shootings in the US involve "rednecks".
