Fuck. Now I gotta buy the game and suffer through all those other shitty songs.

same lol

official list update*

My track list liking is a good 22/86 songs verses a struggling 15/84 with ok songs on RB2. Ill be picking this up on launch.

Hopefully that PS3 peripheral compatibility goes through with the multiple music games, i already have 2 GH3 guitars and 2 Singstar Mics..all i need to buy is the drums then

There's some really good songs in there but I'm not sure there's enough to convince me to that I need it in addition to RB2.

I think I'm gonna have to get this for the metallica album and some of the other songs.

but only if they narrowed the timing window. GH3 was horrid.

Seriously, one band is going to make you buy this game? I'm a huge Offspring fan, but if Rock Band didn't have it and GHWT did, it wouldn't make me buy GHWT.

it is a bad setlist but there are some good

Metallica
NOFX
Satriani
Eagles
Muse ftw
The Doors but meh on the song

overall though it is not as good as Rockband 2.

Yes =P

But there's enough songs I like in there to make me wanna buy it (foo, jimi, dream theater, tool, etc)

Any word on instrument compatibility on the PS3 for GH:WT and RB2? I'm wondering if I can just pick up the bundle for one and the game for the other.

Since Activision and EA made nice this year and allowed cross-compatibility between their games and instruments, I plunked down a $70 deposit towards the GHWT bundle today. Gonna finally retire one of my loud, but reliable x-plorer 360 guitars. I figured my two x-plorer guitar controllers have seen enough action over 4 music games now, I'm itching to ditch one for a wireless and more quiet guitar. The x-plorer has been good to me, but it's clickety buttons are way too loud. I do have the RB1 drums, but I'll probably hand those down to my brother. I never cared for them, but the GHWT drums look sturdy and most important, quiet.

I would easily swear allegiance to RB, but Activision has done way too many great things with GHWT for me to overlook it. They both will hold a spot on my game shelf, only I'll prefer the GH instruments.

Just curious - outside of the music/song generator, what great things has Activision done with GHWT?

I just got rock band 1 for $50 bucks for the bundle, had a friend get 2 for his bday and said what the heck. Anyway, while I like the RB setlist and game more than GHIII setlist and game I don't like the RB guitar or drums one bit. The drums are so loud I packed them back up and i'm thinking of selling them, the guitar I don't know if it takes getting used to or what but i'm missing notes, its hard to play on hard because the buttons are so big, i'm almost thinking of just coping the songs to my HDD and waiting till RB2 comes out and playing the songs with the new GH:WT instruments and selling the entire RB1 bundle.

Well, the music creator is a pretty huge addition. But other stuff:

- Feature for downloading other people's song creations. There will be tons of crap, but you know there will be some quality stuff later on down the pipe.
- The new touch pad on the guitar seems like it could be pretty awesome and a welcome change. The solo buttons on the RB guitars didn't work out like I had hoped, but that's just my opinion.
- It promises a MUCH better create-a-rocker, which is something I want.
- They're supposed to have a pretty in-depth guitar creation feature as well (which I've seen screens of).

Plus they are doing a lot of things RB2 did, like having a single persona for all intruments, non-linear single-player mode, etc.

I think GHWT has the ability to be much better than RB2. Of course, RB has the weekly DLC thing down pat, and I don't expect GHWT to have the same kind of support. They'll definitely put out more DLC than in the past, but I think they will lean on the music creator a bit to fill in the gaps by uploading songs by GH developers and such.

They've also worked with Travis Barker of Blink 182 and +44, Chad Smith of RHCP and Stewart Copland of the Police on the drum kit which looks to be well done.

The player and guitar creation looks cool I will admit, but I think it will wear off fast. I mean no one looks at your avatar when you are playing. Plus if they are anything like the GH3 models.. bleh.

I have a feeling that the touch buttons on the guitar are going to cause are going to cause alot of problems, either with them not responding well enough or some other issue.

Either way, I've bought the RB2 drums and game, will be buying the GHWT disc to play, but we'll see how it goes.

Different strokes....

I'm almost leaning towards GH a little more for the bundle, and their songs(Filter's would be fun) are decent too. If I hadn't have bought all this DLC for RB2, I'd be on guitar hero's bandwagon.
Both look like good choices though.

I think I've said it before but GHWT success to me all depends on the note timing. If it is like it was in GH2 or RB then great, if it is like GH3 then ewwww.

I have a feeling they won't fix it though.
