Looks like three pads, two cymbals and a foot pedal. The drum kit will also be able to tell how hard or soft you hit the pads.

Nope, I'm not spending another $8 jillion dollars for GH4 and a drumkit after buying it for Rock Band. GH3 was actually a disappointment, especially after playing RB...can't say I ever really want to touch GH3 again.

There goes pretty much any chance of me buying the game. I'm too invested in Rock Band now with all the instruments and DLC I've downloaded. There's no way I would want to have another set of drums and/or other assorted instruments lying around.

*edit*
I'll actually amend that and say I might buy GH4 standalone, IF it comes out for the Wii, the guitar tracks are good, AND it stays compatible with my current Wii guitar controllers. Being able to use any generic USB mic would help too.
As of right now though I'm very happy with Rock Band.

#1) Those drums look pretty lame
#2) I wont buy another full plastic instrument set.
#3) Activision made me not care about the GH name anymore

I think the drums look fine but GH3 charts were horrible, boss battles were horrible, and their DLC sucks.

I can't say 100% I won't try this but probably not.

and there are so many ads in the game that they should be paying me to take it off of their hands.

This is ridiculous. They really should have made it compatible with RB. There is no way that I will buy this, simply because I don't want to waste space in my house on a second drum set.

I really want to buy the Muse DLC that was just released for GH3, but I so rarely play that game anymore that it wouldn't be worth it.

I wont be getting this. GH3 sucked bigtime and I am sure this one will too. Long live GH2 and Rockband.

won't buy another activision game because of their stupidity with the Les Paul not being compatible with RockBand for PS3.

But only us PS3 owners were screwed with that choice, now every console gets screwed.

GH4 drums not compatible with Rock Band?!?!?! Ha! I'll show them, I'll use my Rock Band drumsticks on the GH4 drums just to spite them!

theyll probably use rfid chips in the drumsticks to make sure you can only use GH4 branded officially licensed sticks.

I got so excited when I read your post, and then when I looked up the Muse dlc it was the biggest let down ever. Supermassive black hole and exo-politics... wtf?

After Rock Band, the Guitar Hero series now seems almost lackluster, and I doubt GH4, or basically Rock Band 2, will make me feel any different.

Not to mention, I am much happier with Rock Band's DLC.

Agreed. As long as good DLC comes out for Rockband I see no reason to purchase any nore GH games ever.

Unfortunately, even if RB is compatible with the GH drums (and not vica versa), the game probably just isn't going to work well with them - those cymbals are going to totally screw up the pattern timing, making things much harder than they should be.

I'm definitely not going to be buying GH drums - Activision is just pissing me off now.

That's true, but then again so does the Rock Band drums :)
I agree with what everybody is posting here about not being willing to spend more money for another set of drums that will take up that much more space, etc, etc.... but so far as looks I actually thought the GH4 drums looked pretty cool. I'm curious to see how the ability to detect how hard you hit the drums plays into the game as well. However, I can't see myself forking out the money for them... unless maybe I can use them in rock band (in spite of not being able to use rock band drums in GH4).

If some smart person wants to make some money, they should build a converter box that you plug your drums into with a switch on it to make them work with GH or Rock Band... hmmm...

I'm with jdport, I think the GH4 drums look better than the current RB drums. But I'm not shelling out the money for them, no way no how.

No - in the sense that the note patterns in Rock Band are set up for a very specific drum set. Once you change the drum set, and thus have to move further to the cymbals or whatever, the notes become harder to hit.
