Maybe if they send me a free copy I'll think about playing it. I just have too many games and too little time right now.

I'm getting it for sure. Seems a lot like Counter-strike with the quick PvP matches, but with some character development. Should be an ideal casual gamer game.

Aye... I hear you on that. Last year when my friends and I were beta-ing both games, we all agreed Guild Wars was fun, but determined WoW was a sure thing. And the most of us were just normal guys... we never dreamed of paying to play monthly. And guess what. We did. Every one of us. Unless they added alot of stuff, and I mean, ALOT of stuff to the game, I don't think GW will have my time. I will keep an eye on it though.

I found the website to be very vague as far as how you actually play the game, what the object is, what you do, etc. etc. I hate that... a lot of new games are like that... just tell me wtf I'm gonna be doing if I play the game, lol.

Yeah, I played the open beta, loved it, I went out and got the pre-order and swear that I will not play Wow because of the monthly fees.

Then the free Wow open beta came. those bastards! I cut down my Netflix service to the bare minimal as I don't have time to watch movies anymore and it'll pay for part of my Wow subscription.

I'll probably get Guildwars anyway because I have preorder and it's free to play, it's like diablo 2 in 3-d.

that is why they charge for content patches, i mean expansion packs that are going to be released very often for it.

Yes there will be an expansion pack every 6 months. It will add new areas, items, spells, charactor classes, and other things to the game. Just like EQ, EQ2, AO, PSO, and every other MMORPG has done in the past. WoW will do it to, the only difference is they have fees on top of that.

Don't get me wrong i'd love to have WoW also, but I can't bring myself to pay, what is $14-$15 a month for it on top of software.

Yep, love WoW but can't seem to bring myself to pay 60$ for a box then 15$/month after. Like all of Blizzard's games, even with the lag/hacking/bugs/farming it's still very popular and that makes it a great game.

just do some creative accounting.. it is actually cheaper to play WOW.

I don't have to go out anymore to watch movies, and no more going out to dinner.
and best of all, i don't have to buy some of the new games out right now.
I think by the time i'm sick of Wow, some of the newer games will be in the bargin bins.

Once again, there are no monthly fees for ANY RPGS. This is nothing new.

I don't know if you get it, this is a MMORPG. Mabye not on the same scale as WoW, but it still is a MMORPG. It having no monthly fees IS something new.

It is not an MMO, ask the devs yourself. I even talked to them myself, it's exactly like any other RPG. You join a group of no more than 8 people and play the game. Or play it alone. It's entirely online, but it is not an MMO.

It's not like any(at least not like most rpgs out now)other rpg. You play online, there are many areas were there can be more then 8 people,(doing things to, not just standing around)
theres most likly going to be voice chat built into the game, theres player vs. player fighting, partys killing monsters fighting, guild vs. guild fighting, and thats just fighting. While the creators do say, " Rather than labeling Guild Wars an MMORPG, we prefer to call it a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game).", it still is not like "any" other rpg.
