how big can parties be and how many people can be in an instance?

Thinking about pre-ordering 2 standard copies with my gmg store credit. Or will I be at a disadvantage if i don't get the CE version? I think it comes with a summon and some kind of attack?

I'm not sure if you guys are serious or trolling me.

I said that

Pre-orders don't have automatic access to beta.

This means pre-ordering don't get into beta so it can't be counted in the hundreds of thousands.

You can still get into beta if you receive any invite or a BWE game code.

The rest was me being sarcastic, not a troll. I guess this isn't wasn't the best thread to post the irony, since most here are all thumbs up for it. Guess I've been spending too much time in other forums.

No trolling intended.

From your sig I can tell you're in love with GW2 so I was bantering with you.

The BWE code is from pre-purchasing, which most of us sometimes use the term pre-ordering in place of it by mistake.

With that said, yes, I believe the number of people who pre-purchased it, plus the number of people who get invites from the non BWE beta invites, is well over 100k and possibly into 200k+. This game is a big deal for many people.

Party size is 5.

That is max for instanced content.

But to do Dynamic Events, you can have a ton of players (like 500 tops I guess, since I believe that is cap for zone, but don't quote me on that).

You buy standard edition and upgrade later to digital edition (has the same digital benefits of the collectors) if you find the skill to be important - the only game changing thing is the elite summon skill (although it won't probably be oped and in fact it will be most likely compared to racial elites. it is also PvE and WVW only).

PS: In PvP it can be up to 10vs10, but rated matches are 5vs5. At the time of the last beta WvW could be as high as 166vs166vs166 in any of the 4 areas (for a max of 666vs666vs666 in WvW) but they are working on increasing it.

And to access the Beta you need to Pre-Purchase (pay full price in front) not Pre-order.

It comes with things that in the end will be worse or as good as in-game counterparts. I wouldn't worry about the DDE. CE is the boxed copy.

If they allow this - they may not carry this ability over from GW1.

Not in love, just excited.

I enjoyed GW1 a lot.

Really liked that you could do all the content solo with heroes or with just another person.
Always disliked the power games to get in the right guilds to be able to do elite content.

Then I head GW2 would be cutting heroes and be focused more on bringing people to play together and I don't like to be forced to do things.

So, the I with the game getting closer, I start reading about it (last summer) and I jumped in joy when I read and watched some interviews - they bringing people to play together without forcing them!

That is exactly what I want.

I dislike when other people try to dictate how I should behave in my private affairs, so having to endure "no swearing on guild chat please" with swearing consisting of damn in a game, beh, stupid power hungry/elitist people.

This game just caught my eye only recently. I'm sold on buying it.

Can someone convince me to drop $150 for the CE? I mean holy hell... I'm typically a CE-buyer for games I play but I'm finding it hard to cough this amount up for what you seem to get. It is simply just overpriced as shit, or am I missing something about it?

You're paying for:

  • 10-inch Figurine of Rytlock
  • 112-page Making of Guild Wars 2 book
  • Custom Art Frame
  • Art Portfolio and Five Art Prints
  • Best of Guild Wars 2 Soundtrack CD

You don't get any extra in game items compared to the Digital Deluxe Ed... so if that stuff is worth $70 to you...

Collector's Edition Digital Items

Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill
Miniature Rytlock
Chalice of Glory
Tome of Influence
Golem Banker

I have no idea what any of this stuff is, but it's right from the GW2 website.

It is a metal box, a nice art book, a very detailed giant statue, sound track and 5 artwork pieces with one frame (can easily swap the art pieces) so you can display it in your wall.

If it is your kinds of stuff, why not?

Otherwise, Digital Deluxe gives the same digital items.

Even the Digital Deluxe items aren't that fantastic.

Additionally with the option to upgrade from standard to deluxe in the future, you can just go with standard and always change your mind later.

Okay then, sounded like you were being confusing on purpose.

Does the guild system work in the beta? Getting hype for this weekend.

I still haven't received my notification to get the client for the beta this weekend ... I'd like to get it downloaded already.

Yeah...I don't think I'll have a problem (1.2Mbps), but a friend of mine has like 128kbps, so we're praying he gets enough time to download it...

no notification yet.

oddly, I have my account and registration confirmation from the pre-sale date, and two days ago, I received an email notification to be sure that I register so that I can gain access--sent to the same email address/account.

what's the deal?

:hmm:

^you got me all excited, so I go to my email,

see one new email!

--come join us to celebrate 7 year anniversary for weekend event....in GW1!
