Yeah...it takes a while to get into it. If you're patient (and once you get out of pre-searing if you bought prophecies) it gets much, much better

As for which one to buy; I'd recommend Prophecies too. I've had Factions for about 2 months now and only recently started enjoying it (You have to get rather far for it to be enjoyable...and I can't imagine that it would be nearly as good without a linked Prophecies account)

Also, Nightfall is coming out at the end of this month. It looks to be the best one yet after all of the improvements. Overall, I think it's generally best to start with Prophecies. If you enjoy that enough, then you'll likely find some value in the others.

i bought the game when it first came out. i got to lvl 7 then got bored. but now a year later i really got into it and im lvl 17 and im really liking it. it's great when you find some good people to quest with, especially with the missions that you find the bonus's for and such. i've really gotten into it. maybe the updates made it better but i've really gotten into it. and how the hell do you explore the whole map and get a title, IT'S SO DAMN HUGE!!!!

You actually just need 60% of the map to get a title. There are several titles for exploring the map...but I'm more interested in achieving other titles...such as the Drunkard title! (Some glorious day I will be an "incorrigible ale hound")

should have bought on FS/FT... $15-20 there!

a lot of it is in the party though.. once you get a fun party, the game is 100x more fun than soloing

Hell, I would've given you mine for free.

You can always sell it in FS/FT or on eBay. Maybe that's what I'll do.

Don't think games with accounts aren't allowed to be sold on here because the developers don't allow it.

Guildwars doesnt really count.. GW is extremely easy and extremely lacking in anything that resembles an RPG at all...
its closer to a diablo game than anything else..

in GW a toon can max out in a couple days.. 20 is the max level.. and there isnt much to do..

items are pretty lackluster and dont really give a risk/vs reward system a good workout.. the items dont seem to make that much of a difference..

the whole instanced thing is really lame.. the only places with common areas where you can see other players are major quest entrances and towns.. which really spoils the feeling of a living breathing world..

I have a copy of factions and I feel it was a gigantic waste of time and money

Factions alone probably is a waste of money. I actually enjoy the instancing b/c it allows me to head off on my own when I want (I feel that it shouldn't be necessary to have to run into people everywhere you go). I feel that the quick level cap (It's harder to get to in prophecies if you have no one else to run you around and level you up) levels the playing field really well. It puts the focus on strategy and your character builds.

The biggest incentive for me is when comparing price and content with WoW. For $100 a year (assuming you buy both GW modules released every year), you get about 3 times the content (new classes on each and an entire new world), for about $80 less.

In the end, your ability to enjoy these types of games depends on the type of people you meet while playing them. I barely played for the first month or two that I had it. It wasn't until I met a good group of people that I really started enjoying it.

It is possible to get "Have a friend play" codes for Prophecies and Factions since they are in the Nightfall Bonus box.

I have both Prophecies and Factions but I think that Prophecies is better at this point.

Nightfall looks REALLY neat and is coming out in a few weeks. The PvE weekend they had a few weeks ago was a lot of fun.

ROFL! GW has more content that WoW? are you freaking crazy... Ive played GW and factions since the first day.. its not even 1/10 the size and scope and content of WoW..

WoW literally takes years to see and do eveything for a normal player..
hell Ive been playing since Alpha and havent seen everything yet..
WoW releases content faster than people can crunch it..
only the uber guilds can tear through content as fast as they can make it..

WoWs free addons so far have added 900% more than GW has in an entire expansion product..

no thanks.. when WoW releases BC its gonna add another 1000X what GW has to offer..

ps.. WoW is a real MMO vs a diablo style game with some online function.. not really even close to a fair comparison..

pps.. Your right so why are you?

They are two differnt types of games that will apeal to two different groups of players... win/win.

why the hell am i getting owned by monsters that are 1 level lower than me? level 1 monsters don't hurt much but they still take forever to kill. i'm a lvl 4 ranger/monk.

do you have prophecies or factions?

add me as "zinfamous son of zi" and pm me sometime. rangers are tough to start off with, but i may be able to help.
