For my 5-year service award, all I got was a catalog full of cheesy gifts from which I could choose just one. The most expensive item in the catalog could be purchased at the local Wal-Mart for $14.97. How's that for showing appreciation?

I got a certificate "recognizing" me for my 5 years service. They spelled my name wrong 🙁

I love the obligatory "include the certification or current tech reading material in the picture".
Purely coincidental, I assure you. The pic was taken from a seated position--I swiveled from my keyboard and snapped a quick shot w/my camera phone, then threw it up on bbzzdd without checking for any necessary edits. An SCSA cert isn't really anything to write home about 😛

(In other news, another ATOTer realized that he knew me IRL based on that cert :Q )

JLGatsby: Read the thread already. Tick: You have like 1 hour to read the thread.

As a matter of fact, guys, it's quoted for the nth time about a dozen posts above your posts. 😉

it's a fish bowl, with tiny writing on the bottom, "So long, and thanks for all the fish"

Or it's old computer parts that they wouldn't let you have when they were in the garbage.
Now that damn song is stuck in my head.

Before I even clicked the thread my guess was going to be "a crystal candy dish".

2 of the companies I've worked for, 3 of the companies my dad has worked for and 1 of the ones my mom has worked for have all given crystal candy dishes as a service award.
