Web access at our job is unrestricted... it could happen on-demand regardless :p Not that it does at my desk.

But not that it doesn't on others.

That's what you get for 5 years of service there eh? Not bad. Where I work we get one of these except in a gold tone.

why did you get a crystal bowl? that seems pretty lame to me... you should leave it at work, and wheneveryou want a snack, pop some popcorn and dump it into that expensive crystal bowl and carry it around

Pssh, for $725 I would get a digital one that has a light show and has a mini tv in it to play porn while I "work". :p

Go back and look at the other options I had. Some plain looking cufflinks? About 4 different picture frames or women's jewelry? All uninteresting. At least I can keep whatever I want in a bowl.

I was actually thinking one badass entire-box bowl of Crunch Berries eaten with a pot spoon for starters... seriously :p

'Scuse me, I forgot a manly man such as yourself would have opted for the cake server or the textured knot earrings instead. My apologies.

:cookie: for you! I actually forgot entirely that I do have a wedding gift to purchase... hmm...

I would need to open it first though... nothing worse than the plainly obvious regift, like if there's a slip of paper in the box referencing my tenure at the company or something. :confused:

Like I said before when someone suggested eBaying it, I'll probably keep it. It's the type of thing that I would probably never buy, but would be nice for the kitchen counter.

You officially win. That delicious burn on troglodytis made this entire thread, and in my opinion, your (self proclaimed) crappy gift, worth it.

For my 5-year service award, all I got was a catalog full of cheesy gifts from which I could choose just one. The most expensive item in the catalog could be purchased at the local Wal-Mart for $14.97. How's that for showing appreciation?

Hmmm I've got 1 more year till 5, the only real bonus thing I know of is that my PTO goes from 34 days a year to 39.

I'd be cool to get a gift!

Hmm, for 25 years service, I got a rock paperweight. :brokenheart:

I don't even have a desk, with my job;
I drive trucks, front end loaders, etc at my job.

Like this;

Nice. What sort of specs are on the diesels in the plow trucks? I would presume they are the largest engines that would fit on the frame.

No whatever is cheap on the contract bids, is what we would commonly get;
e.g., instead of a 300 hp Cummins we might get a 240 hp one,
etc.

We have some stuff thats over 20 years old, that we are still using,
some of the stuff is getting rusty. :(

hehe, why don't companies ever give away anything good?
the company i worj for now gives a huge swiss army knife for 5 years. 10 years is a mantle clock and 20 or 25 is $2000. so i guess these are better than most other companies i have seen
