Looks damn good... Didn't know Karen Gillan had to go bald and blue. With all the make-up and skin props, surprised they didn't go with just a bald cap.

You're wrong. It's actually a deep philosophical movie about the meaning of life.

I think it will focus on the nuances - does life even have meaning? If not, what then of death? Does Sisyphus smile while walking back down the mountain, realizing, accepting and yet rising above the absurdity of his existence?

Plus, it's got a talking raccoon that shoots big guns and his best friend is a tree.

To each their own but I have no desire to see a raccoon even is it turns out to be the eight incarnation of Vishnu. OK, I'd go to see that.

Having never heard of this before, when I saw Andy I was like...that's an odd casting for a main character, and then the dialog started, and it made perfect sense.

Trailer gives it a Firefly vibe and I'm intrigued.

Yeah, I think some of you guys are just on a hate train for no reason.

I was looking forward to this after Chris Pratt was cast even before the trailer. Now, I want this movie to have my babies!

I'm really hoping that vibe carries through with the whole movie.

With the group of characters, galactic travel, a living ship, and a genetically modified raccoon, it deserves that kind of vibe.
Here's to hoping they continue the trend of the Marvel movies having great comedic moments but also doing a respectable "serious" tone very well. There's much to have fun with this group of characters, but I don't doubt one bit (and really hope I'm right) that the movie will be more serious than the trailer lets on.

I like Chris Pratt. Even when he isn't being goofy (Zero Dark Thirty, for example).

I just picked up the first appearance of Rocket Raccoon comic book. If this hits paydirt, I'm hoping to quintuple my money. Everyone go see the movie. 😛

I hope Boo-tista keeps his heat until the release. I want to see angry WWE fans interrupt his press junkets with yes chants only for him to say deal with it.

The trailer didn't inspire confidence in me.

Hopefully I am wrong. As another said it was going for a Firefly atmosphere. As a fan of Firefly owning the DVD set of the series, that aspect of the trailer was lost on me and seemed just rather silly.

Maybe the trailer just didn't do justice to the movie. Again hopefully.

.....

and isn't Iron Man suppose to make a cameo to tie it in w/the Avengers? (aka cheap trick to bring in the sheepie.. er.. audiences)

Why would that be a cheap trick? Tony Stark actually fits into the Guardian of the Galaxy world. Why? Read on...
Tony Stark comes to the realization that his intellect is limited by one thing: Earth. He believes that there's more to learn if he travels throughout the universe, and such knowledge can help him fight off the baddies. So, he joins up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and leaves Earth.

I'm looking forward to this movie more than I rightfully should. I have a feeling it will be another HHGTTG-style abortion.

John C Reilly, say no more.

Yeah, he really makes me assume this movie will suck dick, too. His inbred ginger goofball schtick has run its course- time to go back to playing bit parts, guy.

Did you laugh when you saw him in Zero Dark Thirty?

Didn't have to see Zero Dark Thirty to know it was a joke.

Chris Pratt is a pretty good actor, though.

:hmm: The critical and public reaction to the movie was spectacular.

Granted, I haven't seen it yet - but I don't expect to be let down. :\

People are dumb, The Hurt Locker is the worst thing I've ever seen, Katheryn Bigelow should be shot in the face. I've been over this with you people.

ZDT probably had a 90%+ critics score on RT...I weep for anyone who doesn't understand how that indicates a terrible pile of critic-pandering trash.
