Groot at the end was great. Couple different scenes with large number of bodies in some odd form of falling, not sure what's going on there. Glad to see more of the Star Lord mask in use, a great effect.

Normally I would agree with this. However, Guardians of the Galaxy was actually really good and I hate comic book movies almost without fail. I am looking forward to this second one.

I doubt they can top the music selection from the first one though. That was a stellar sound track.
 
First one was a great sleeper hit, loved it! Funny, great soundtrack, fun space stuff, pretty much everything I wanted in a goofy space movie.

Nothing about the first one was sleeper.. there were ads for it everywhere and it opened huge..
 
First one was AWESOME. Probably the best super-hero (sort of) movie other than Flash Gordon back in the early 80s. "Flash.....ah-aaaaaaa... he'll save every one of us!!!!"

More in terms of hardly anybody knew the comic...whereas everyone knows Superman, Batman, and Spiderman.

It was the same effect with Ironman...although he was known, he just wasn't huge until RDJ channeled him. First movie was fantastic!

Agree with you hating "most" comic book movies, this and Watchmen (Malin Akerman 🙂" were about the only two I've really enjoyed.

If you think this genre will die anytime soon, you are in for a bad time. It is akin to saying no more slasher flicks, no more rom coms, no more thrillers, no more hard sci-fi flicks. CGI made comics books a viable MMP category, and it will be a staple for years to come.

Particularly when the critically mediocre ones still make a respectable income ignoring that the well received ones top the money made charts.
 
First was amazing, really looking forward to this one after Vin Diesel (biased of course) thinks the second should top the first. Amazing cast.
