True, Winter Soldier was quite good and it felt like more of a modern, spy type movie on steroids rather than a comic book movie. I also think it's the closest we'll get to a Black Widow movie although I wish there was a standalone one with Hawkeye but I'm not really expecting that.

I saw it on Imax 3D as well. The size of the screen is always disappointing with the liemax theaters but at least the DLP projector seemed perfect which is what I care about more. A good 3D movie makes me forget I'm watching it in 3D and that did happen, so I would say it was worth seeing it in 3D but not like how Gravity was basically required to see it in Imax 3D.

meh winter soldier.

Bucky can throw Caps shield hard enuf to get lodged in the side of a van.
yet when he throws and hits Cap while his back is turned on the next gen heli-carrier, it just stunned him a little.
Why didn't it cut him in half?!

the super soldier serum doesn't give him invunerbility. (if so, then why does he need a shield against bullets?)

I saw this today in 3D IMAX in Wichita, KS at the Warren Theater. I don't know if it is true, but they say it is the biggest 3D IMAX in the country. I loved the movie.

A 35 yr old looking 95 year old super solider in a world of flying aircraft carriers, who's friends with a man dressed entirely of iron, a friend who turns into a green giant when he's angry, and a demi-god from another universe. Your concerned that his shield doesn't cut through the 95 year old one metal armed bad guy who was his best friend?

OK!

I liked it, but not more than Winter Soldier or Avengers. I can see it becoming a good franchise though.

7.5/10

Man, the end credits was by far my favourite part of the movie. Got so excited, even though I know it will never become anything more than that scene. :(

KT

That was awesome, he popped up twice!

I give it a 9/10, movie was fun and what I wanted out of it. Cannot wait to see a few more :).

GF was in tears at a few spots, and c'mon ... groot as a small twig regrowing, hilarious.

Just wanting to comment on your Drax statement: he actually dies in the comics fairly early in. He wasn't that powerful. Also, I can't wait for Thanos. I don't care if the movie is straight to DVD rubbish, I am seeing it.

And, am I the only person who thinks if they were to remake the original trilogy, Chris Pratt could pull of Han Solo flawlessly?

In one incarnation, Drax pummeled the Surfer, and Thanos a few times, and was capable of defeating the Hulk. He was quite powerful for a time.

I just read up on him on a wiki page, and it looks like he has been "reborn" no less than 4 times by now? :D WIth different powers and mental capacities each time.

I only remember from that time prior to and during the Infinity Watch.

Regarding his last "resurrection" I found this to be hilarious, and typical of quite a few comic story lines:

While experiencing a bout of madness, Drax attacks Thanos and is killed.[36] Drax later reappears with the Guardians on Earth without reference to his death.[37][38]

Wife and I saw it last night and loved it. It was really funny.

We walked out and thought it was very firefly and farscape-ish, which are good things.

Groot FTW :)

I enjoyed it but couldnt get past Ronan? Ronin? being able to fly a freaking warship into Xander airspace without confrontation. And then when the planet responded, it was marginally effective. Why did the Kree ever agree to a peace treaty? They could have just sent TWO (gasp) warships at Xander and crushed them.

I know, comic book movie. But it is a huge plothole.

So who is Starlord's pops anyway? (spoiler tag)

I don't think the issue was about Xandar (Nova) being able to fight off the warships. I think they could have done that effectively and even contained the ground troops.

The issue was that they couldn't let Ronan get on the ground because now he has the Power Stone that could destroy the planet. But he has to get onto the planet first, see?

I took 8 and 4 year old. A couple of moments, but honestly, nothing really worse than what they inadvertently hear from a lot of supposedly innocuous cable daytime tv.

The 4 year old thought it was too loud :)
