Picked up an EVGA off of tigerdirect, sucks I have to pay tax but hopefully I get it pretty fast to make up for it. I was kinda weirded out by the identity verification thing at the end, why do they do that when no other site I've ordered from does?

They ask for your SS number. It is a bit wierd but they only usually do that the first time you order online from them. I guess its a verification thing for them to match with the credit card company.

With a hugely popular item, like these or anything else, if you depend upon the auto notify email, you'll miss the item. By the time the email hits, the card will be OOS again. Best bet is just F5 the Newegg page of the cards themselves.

I was actually just kidding. I was trying to say its basically doing the same thing. (refreshing your email vs. refreshing your browser) 😛

wtf?

i would never given tiger my SSN. they don't need it. the credit card companies don't match that way.

I really hope you didn't provide your SSN to them... D:

SUPER-TEMPTED to return my rad 7950 for a gtx 680 right now! is it worth it? i only have 1 day left before the 30 day exchange thing on tiger runs out :|

Return it asap, and pay for the remaining balance, your lucky enough to be able to return your card!

I on the other hand need to contemplate, if I can sell my 580 , I'll get a 680 >.<!!!!

ended up cancelling my 3 from evga... the hydrocoppers will be out early april and will just go that route

I have an Evga gtx 680 backordered at Amazon while I think about it. Come on AMD you have a few days to a couple of weeks to show me a $80 to $100 price drop to sway me.

This is my first time buying an nVidia card, and I am upgrading from a 5850. I had a $100 Newegg GC and after the reviews hit this morning I just couldn't resist. I just bought the EVGA 680 and was wondering if any other seasoned nVidia vets could chime in if this is a good choice or not. My current card is pretty quiet, is the 51.9dB load reading from Ryan's review going to be pretty loud? I'm a "buy once, cry once" kinda guy so I just wanna make sure this card is gonna rock 🙂
