I have alwyas liked EVGA ... how are zotac/MSI/glaaxy/ASUS for coolers? Who has the longest warranty?

This first batch is all based on the reference design so I think they are all identical. All have 3 year warranties except the galaxy which has 2 years I think. Basically just pick based on whichever company you think provides the best support and RMA service...or just pick the prettiest sticker 🙂

$500 video card, seriously?

I just want one of the mid range cards. Something good in the $100 price range. 🙂

Wait and get an Ivy Bridge CPU next month. The integrated GPU is as fast as $50-$60 GPU's.

EVGA rep said it would have lifetime warranty if I'm not mistaken. They are in the midst of changing their warranty.

again? I will make sure to go EVGA then, even for the off chance it is lifetime.

$500 isn't that much money in the scheme of things. If you're an enthusiast and this is your thing, then it's REALLY not a huge deal to drop $500 every year...

IIRC EVGA is also moving to a better advanced-swap warranty as well. They are definitely upping their game when most others are undermining their warranty terms.

When you can make back 60-70% too, it's not all THAT bad.

It's like buying a new car, someone will want used

From the page where I preordered my eVGA card:

EVGA Warranty

INTRODUCING THE NEW AND IMPROVED EVGA WARRANTY

The brand new EVGA warranty covers the graphics card; not the user. This means the only requirement for warranty coverage is ownership of the card during its warranty period, even if you are not the original owner. Learn more here.

Minimum 3 year warranty if purchased after July 11, 2011. Warranty registration not required, warranty follows card instead of original owner, free cross-shipping RMA service. It also says "Stay tuned for more details coming April 2nd, 2012!!!"

Each review thread I see I get more and more excited. I have to order next week so I hope more go on sale at newegg or tiger direct. The specific games I play all rock with this card, I cant go wrong 🙂.
Its been a long time since I had an nvidia card.

Sadly no, but the good news is that this should serve me well for a while.

I remember what its like to get the upgrade bug, every month there is something new. 🙂

That's fantastic! Finally a manufacturer "gets it"!

I never would have guessed Nvidia would have undercut AMD with something better. Kudos. Now, let the 7970 fall in price like a brick.

Oh and I saw this too...

I just installed my EVGA 680GTX that I ordered from newegg yesterday. Their next day shipping worked great. This is the first time I've purchased the highest end card on launch day, I guess I am now in the club of the "crazy enthusiast."

I would say there is a considerable line between real enthusiasts and those chronicling their purchases on internet forums. That's just me.
