GTX470 and 480 stocking status

I see. So you're going to insist that availability is going to be low for GTX470 and GTX480 then. You seem firm about it, so I'll leave you to it.

Uh... what.
You seem to have taken an amazing leap of logic from A = 1 so E = Elephant.
I'm impressed, so I'll leave you to it.

Eh, ok. So what is the final point you'd like to make clear. What is it exactly that we are debating about?

Seems at least some of the gang at B3D believe that Charlie is right that this launch will be mainly paper.

Still Nvidia pr appears confident - so lets get the darn things on the shelves. Would be a disappointment if this turns into a holding strategy until the respin gets out the door.

I thought availability was on the 12th of April? Unless retailers couldnt wait no more and selling whatever stock they have atm.

only the etailers that are charging over MSRP have availability. ewiz is at $569!!!!

Surprised newegg was selling at retail with the demand and limited stock for these cards.

Dissapointed to see ewiz launching over MSRP. They're a decent choice normally. Hopefully Newegg will stick to their guns, they'll determine where US prices go with these. ewiz *should* adjust back down if Newegg sticks to MSRP..

Hoping for same thing 😀

We only have ourselves to blame for the price gouging. If people would stop buying them at $570.00 the etailers would stop charging $570.00.

Graphics cards are a passion purchase. It's easy to let logic slip, they're toys and e-tailers know it. But yea ur right. It sucks though..

I like it. It has that whole industrial/machinery type look that I love.

Off topic but why are so many people calmmoring for the eVGA model over makes like Galaxy/Gigabyte/MSI, etc? Does eVGA have a super warranty or something?

Overclocking is covered. Overvolting is covered.

Instant responses from Customer Service.

There is not another board partner, on either side, that comes close.

If eVGA ever went "Red" nV would shit a brick.

Yeah..step up for 90 days. They also just came out with an artifact scanner for the 400 series. No sign of BFG or XFX for this launch so EVGA is the best of what's left for Nvidia.

Is that as true as the 448sp and broken and unfixable?

It very well may be as true as the 512SP part being unmanufacturable. Of course after three spins of the 'A' silicon, and a 'B' silicon revision coming in the future to be able to get the announced 512SP's working, Nvidia will sure show Charlie!

Does anyone have a link to the nVidia presser that mentions wide-scale availability? I thought we were supposed to see the channels saturated on the 12th.

Week of the 12th. So by the end of the week. There's still another 5 or so days left yet.

Fuad claiming that board partners are receiving 1/4 as many cards as they pre-sold to distributors.

I think it's now safe to call this a paper launch whether it really took place on the 26th of March or 12th of April.

FUD claimed 30 000 units for launch. Charlie claimed under 8 000 units. Some quick math tells us that 30 000/4 = 7500 units. But seriously guys if they really launched with 7500 units and the next shipment is due in May that is really the ultimate paper launch.

I looked at newegg and they do have one GTX470 in stock(and it's a gigabyte too so it' not like it's and ECS card that people just won't risk their money on) so it doesn't look 100% sold out right now. Remains to be seen how things go in the next couple of weeks.
