GTX470 and 480 stocking status

I used to buy quite a bit from ZZF. They suck ass now for the most part. Wow, massive rapeage.

if you plan on maintaining the thread, you should add "(and other GF100 series cards)" or something in the title. i found you can only edit them so many times.

also keep a list of the vendors and your search urls in a document or docs.google as anandtech's url spider/replacer rapes them a bit 🙂

What is probably going to happen is, the massive amounts of pre-orders are going to be filled and that will quickly diminish the stocks of these cards. I'd say in about two weeks, the supply chain will be filling up.

How massive you are talking about?

Oh, 5 or 6 at least!! 😀 AFAIK, there may not be any limits on pre-orders, so most of the new stock will go to filling those. When you see stock, and it vanishes quickly in the beginning, a large reason for that would be for filling pre-orders.

And I'll give you a thumbsup just to counter your negative thumbsdown.

You should also consider that these cards weren't supposed to hit retail just yet. All that you see available are retailers jumping the gun. So sure, they will be hard to find especially when they should not have even been released yet.

You are making this too easy Keys...so tempting..
ok, i pass the test.

Check this out. The retailers aren't "jumping the gun," NVidia has given it their official blessing.

I don't know how widespread they will be. Charlie estimated around 30,000 total for both cards AFAIK. Newegg didn't have any preorders only a auto-notify.

Not really sure what "this" is, but try not to constantly treat this like a game. K?
Lets just talk tech. 😉

Two can play that game. I just thought it funny that it wasnt ment to be out yet. Im sure im not the only one :sneaky: 😀

The "instock" dates in Norway keep getting pushed back though. So its now 03.05.10
Considering Norway and Sweden will pretty much share a stock of a few thousand 480 and 470s combined, im feeling less sure about managing to grab one.

So massive in some countries that the GTX470 pre-order stocks still haven't sold out.
That might have something to do with ludicrous pricing though.

Do pre-orders normally sell out? Or do vendors just keep them open to get as much cache as they can and worry about filling the orders later? Hmmm.

This site has specific quantities listed and the GTX480 isn't listed (it has appeared on and off as a single card froma single manufacturer has been available, one would assume from someone cancelling a pre-order).
As a quantity hits 0, the card gets removed from the page, since the pre-order allocation is sold out. So there are no GTX480 pre-orders available from this site, and the number of available GTX470 cards has declined slowly.

I see. So you're going to insist that availability is going to be low for GTX470 and GTX480 then. You seem firm about it, so I'll leave you to it.
