utilizes my 6850 at 100%, but it will fluctuate depending on when the scene is limited by cpu which is mostly large draw distances of geometry ( like viewing the entire map from a mountain). when i limit it by the cpu, the gpu usage goes 80-95% and fluctuates in that range until the scene is gpu limited again and it goes back up to 100%

100%? I have never seen anything actually use 100% so I assume you mean 99%?

At least RMA the card once since both systems are acting up. We can take it further from there.

So you think its my card?
It has 99% GPU usage in ultra settings in Borderlands and Crysis 2.

I have actually contacted the company that i bought this card from and they say its a driver thing, but im sceptical.

Imagine if someone with a gtx680 could just test Borderlands, run around in Firestone and see what their fps is at.

But it doesnt seem that anyone with a 680 has borderlands.

You will need to remove the FPS cap by following this easy guide.

I got a GTX 680, and Borderlands (freshly installed after the GF wanted to have another romp through it) but we haven't edited the ini files. I can try to give it a whirl later today (going out for mother's day) and see where her PC falls.

EDIT:

Screw it doing it now...BRB

EDIT #2:

Sorry just as I started she called me down. I got the ini file ready, so will give it a shot when I get home.

Dont forget to post thouse results mate! 🙂

Btw I don't know if it already came up, but Borderlands as well as most Unreal engine games have a fps cap at 62. Toyota probably disabled it.

Edit: It came up 🙂

Edit 2: I have a friend who has 4xGTX680 and an Core i7 (non-SB) at 3GHz, too. He has Serious Sam 3 as well. If you like I can get him to post some screenshots of areas where you think your fps are too low. Preferably at the beginning of the game because he hasn't played it through and can only access the first level.

I originally thought that the issue may be a result of hardware differences, but it has since occured to me that Unified shader cards use a d3d9 recompiler and wrapper which may be generating code that is inefficient on Kepler hardware.

Have you solved the issue finally?

I have absolutely the same troubles with FPS with GTX680 in games like BF3, Borderlands, Assassin's Creed 3, Planetside, etc...
And ye I had better fps for all of them on my previous card radeon 5770...

😵 NVDA driver problems?
I'd probably try the "nuke from orbit solution" and do a format of the OS.
"It's the only way to be sure".

To anyone having this problem. Make sure your card is running proper PCI-E link speed. Download GPU-Z and check.

I had to reseat a card to get it to register at PCIe 3.0 @ x8. I was only getting PCIe 1.1 @ x2 before. Imagine the low bandwidth that gave.
