GTX 670 @ 1080p maxed will see about 40fps, maybe a little lower for the min. Average about 60.

finally you read my mind ...

That said, the 670 is the best card in that range if you're absolutely against manual overclocking.

for noob like me it's ideal :D

That chart wasn't 12.7 it was release drivers. I'm not sure why you had such miserable performance, but it's not because the 480 is faster than the 7970 in BF3. There's some other reason.

12.7's are only ~5% faster than the review drivers (11.12RC) were in BF3. The bad ones were the 11.12 WHQL drivers, which weren't intended for Tahiti, but some reviewers used them anyway after the cards were released instead of the intended drivers.

I'm not blaming you. So, don't take it that way. I'm just saying that the 480 is not faster than the 7970. That's all.

i know dude :) just saw myself .. im not lying :) im not nvidia fanboy ro something liek that .. i just teste on same system 480 and 7970 ... and 480 was faster in bf3 .... 7970 was on stock clock 925 .... maybe that was a reason ...

other games run well on 7970 .... for example metro and crysis 2 was good with 7970 :)

Was the 480 overclocked to... Ohh, 900Mhz or so?

The 580 was pretty close in BF3 to the 7970, you'd only need around 840MHz on the 480 to match a 580, bit more to get it reasonably close to the 7970 in this case.

Though I can't see it being noticeably faster unless of course you're running SLI then it will be.
