Overall not too terrible but still a little pricey IMO since the 7950 can overclock better (not sure about their cards with turbo).

the gtx580 came out almost two years ago so that is actually not much of an accomplishment. and the gtx580 actually beat it in a few cases.

21 months to get 500$->300$, not to mention lower power consumption, alittle faster and more memory.

While its not like the old days jumps. This is what the future holds. And I dont mind it.

sad future then. 500 bucks now gets you only 30% more than we already had 21 months ago for the same price. no to mention at least back then then we got a robust pcb and cooler too. now 300 bucks will only just barely match what we had had 21 months ago from a $500 card that was a poor value then. and it it cant even do that in some games.

yeah the power consumption is better but who will upgrade this card? a gtx460 owner would get a huge jump but they likely paid less than half of what the gtx660ti is launching for. a plain gtx560 would get a 50% increase but its going to be about 50% more than the the gtx560 even launched at. sad times indeed if looking for bang for buck...

The card itself isn't that bad. It's just that you could get the 7870 five months ago, which did all the same things you mentioned and while it cost 350$ then, it's 250$ now. It would've been amazing five months ago, but now it's just underwhelming.

1. Power consumption numbers look low for all their tests.
2. They measured temperature but not noise levels, so that's pretty useless.
3. We can expect you to ask for a sticky for the next AMD card, right?

There's always at least one with a bug up there. LOL

Phynaz, I don't understand your gripe, nor your request for me to post and request a sticky for the next AMD card. I don't really follow AMD anywhere near as close as I do Nvidia. Common knowledge also that I by far prefer Nvidia products. Do you want me to include this factoid in each of my posts as well as listing my affiliation in my sig?
Just stay out of the thread if this is all you intend to do.

Has potential, will have to see how prices settle over the next couple of months.

Thinking of all these threads where some have concluded that AA is gonna kill this card make me laugh right now.

On the other hand performance seems all over the place in some games beating the 7950 in others loosing hard while it is consistently better than the 7870.

The value of the card is debatable since still we don't know the NVidia price. I get the feeling the OCed cards will be launched at $300 while the regular ones will be at most $280.

Every popular review thread gets stickied. Seriously chill the f out man and quite trying to start a thread derailment right from start.

Interesting how the power efficiency differences narrow outside of the 7970 vs 680 comparisons. Even in very expensive electricity markets we are looking at a penny an hour window.

Edit: LoL at the Vr-zone review, Perf/$ and Perf/W in BF3 front and center, for details you have to click extra links.

I liked the way HardOCP broke down the performance of the GTX 460, 560ti and 660ti,
