TBH, I'd be surprised if this roadmap isn't fake. I think Nvidia learned their lessons with large dies at TSMC's 40nm process - and unless they have managed to pack on 768 cores and more memory controllers all the while keeping it smaller than GF100 - then I just don't think this is an accurate representation of what GF110 will mechanically end up being.

That slide looks just like AMD slide for NI

There is a 5850 for $195, as well (after rebate). So at least one is well under that $254 price listed earlier.

.

Well, I am no Nvidia fan, And to be honest, I am a ATI/AMD fan "even though I am running NV cards". But....If I had to choose between the GTX470 that I posted, and the HD5850 that you posted, it would be the GTX470. Well, not definite, but a 85% chance I would. :)

Again, current prices are about to change soon, so I'm not sure any of this really matters anyway.

Prices are already dropping across the board.

GTX 460 768 $139.99 after MIR http://www.newegg.com/Product Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162058

GTX 460 1 gig $169.99 after MIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134116

Between those, the 5850, and gtx470's, things are getting cheap for the performance offered!

5870 prices seem to be holding for the most part. I am guessing that is an indicator of where 6870 performance should be, somewhere between the 5850 and 5870.

Further hints/evidence that a fully unlocked gf104 card is coming very soon:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-6870-radeon-hd-6850-barts,2776-23.html

"It also remains to be seen if Nvidia can maintain the long-term price war it recently declared. Every single GeForce GTX 470 is equipped with a monolithic GF100 GPU in the 530 square millimeter range. That’s close to twice the size of the Radeon HD 6870’s 255 mm2 die. How long can Nvidia keep up such a numbers-based fight? Not long, we’d guess, if there’s nothing else waiting in the wings. But this sure would be a good time to introduce a card with a fully-equipped GF104 and 384 CUDA cores enabled (Ed.: I can’t comment, but I know something that you don’t, Don)."

A news post on fudzilla claims that there isn't going to be a GTX 475 but a be a 5** series card and is based on the GF114 Core: http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/item/20588-geforce-„475“-is-gf114-based

This could be true, but I think Fud is off on this one. There may be a gf114 that is based on 384 cores, but since the (questionable) roadmap shows it being released next year, I think it's a revised (tweaked) core that will different and faster than gf104. I still think Nvidia will push a 384 core gf104 out of the door within the next few weeks because the chips are available NOW and they need something now to improve their margins (due to all the price cuts their lineup has undergone in the past 6 weeks).
