This is great game. But I won't call it the best game ever. Simple because there is no such thing as THE best game!!

I'm sorry, I cant see why anyone but a adolescent could enjoy this game.

The AI is just so poor. The graphics are decent, but the AI really detracted me from playing it. If they made it remotely realistic when it comes to AI, it would've been far better gameplay wise. But thats something you expect, since it comes from a PS2 and there is only so much room for branch prediction on a processor that is more or less desiged for graphics.

Does the game suffer from bugs like what GTA3 did? I remember having to go through LOTS of system tweaks in order to get the game working smoothly... Blech...

i agree, a little better AI and some tweaks would make it better than perfect. :)

Also, does GTA VC run any better/worse or the same as regular GTA3 for PC?
Higher res, AA, runs smoother, you can play your own MP3 files rather than the 80's music. Still the textures look like crap because they were ported over from the PS2.

argh damnit, just like gta3. why can't they spiffy it up more for pc. good god it shows how cr@ppy ps2 is though.

yea the only reason any ps1/2 port runs slow is because they really don't optimize it for pc. how else do u explain geforce 1 level type graphics choking on anything faster then a geforce 1 heh:) atleast thats how it was with previous sony ports. its like they run them in emulation or something horrid.

A little is an understatement. I think I've written better AI in my CSE classes.

I thought it was fun for a week or so. It got kind of old quickly though and I got bored of it.

Haven't tried Mafia yet even though I have it for about a month already {g} Work is taking too much time... ARGH... Well, taking breaks in between for AT is still good stuff :p

BTW, how good/bad will Mafia run on AXP1600, 256MB RAM and G4Ti4200? ;)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Bought a copy from CC today and installed it...it runs great on my system. K7S5A mobo, Duron 900, 256MB PC133, and GF2 GTS. Of course, the resolution is only 800x600x32 but I care more about the gameplay rather than the graphics. Kickass game...but only have 45 more minutes to play...then its off to work...:(

sick call maybe? :D

Let me get this straight, Vice City DOESN'T have multiplayer mode? I thought rockstar said it would have after the outrage over the face that GTA3 didn't have multiplayer!!!

Anyone playing on a remotely decent system you should turn off the frame limiter and bump the draw distance all the way. The defaults are ugly as sin.
