GTA V: Steam version or retail version?

I remember the days when I HAD to have a box in my hand. The last box version of a game I bought was WoW I think. This helps make the decision though, no cap.

Same here. No cap really helps when I have to download games. Especially since GTA 5 was corrupted the first time and I had to download again.

So installed the game last night using the retail disks. Took around 13-15 minutes per disk. Finished without a hitch. Downloaded the 5gb update, then a 350+- additional patch and was ready to play.
Launched with no issues.

Went in, played through the first main sequence until you are ready to sleep and save at your house in the hood. Runs VERY smoothly on my system 1080P with pretty much ULTRA + MFAA (not sure if its working)
Will go and try DSR tonight for 1440P. So far very impressed. 🙂

DSR isn't working yet. I have been playing on the tv at 1080p because I cannot choose 1440 unless I use my monitor.

Oh ok. That explains my issue with it outputting 960x1080p. I can choose a DSR resolution but it bugs out. It also does the same at 1080p with DSR enabled in the control panel. I have to use borderless windowed mode and I know DSR isn't working even when set in the game settings while in that mode.

It was kinda annoying because it also does it after you run a benchmark. [/spoiler]

Yeah,a popup box should come up after the benches come up giving a overall avg/min and maximum fps for your configuration instead of you having to search for the Notepad containing the results.Option perhaps to return to game after you view it.

I just found it by chance, there isn't exactly a need to know on how or where to find them either.

Can't you use traditional downsampling in place of DSR? Or do your TVs refuse to recognize non-native resolutions above 1080P? I've seen plenty of screenshots of people downsampling GTA V from 4K resolutions; looks really, really good, although it apparently runs terribly maxed out at that resolution (unsurprisingly).

I've tried dsr on some games..didn't care for it. IQ was lower then traditional AA types. And the UI was always effected for the worse.

It seems to work for me. I notice a frame rate drop. It reverts to 1080p and bugs out but if I turn it on in game it holds.
If DSR isn't working why does my frame rate go down?

I don't have the option and neither does Geforce Experience. What did I do wrong?

It works fine in Dragon Age Inquisition, Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Unity.

Well its definately buggy... and if you reload a save or exit the game it turns off sometimes but if I am in and enable it... it works until I exit.
I did the usual, turn on DSR and all resolution options near the DSR toggle.
