GTA V: PC Version

Guys, if it was coming 6months after 360/PS3 we would have heard by now.

GTA IV came out 6 months after the PS3/360 version and it wasn't announced until 3 months after the console release. Rockstar is usually pretty tight-lipped about PC versions; they don't want PC/console gamers passing up on the console version just because the PC version is only a few months out.

Well, Nvidia said this would be in their bundle eventually, but Rockstar came out and said something to the effect of "a PC version of GTA5 has not been announced." I highly doubt Nvidia just made that up, they just were a bit loose lipped about it.

Wasn't GTA V originally supposed to be released 2 years ago in November. Even though it gets SO dragged out, I can't help but be excited that it will be out soon. I DO wish it was released for PC at the same time, but then how would RS make that money off of me twice. x.x

Mouse/Keyboard?!?! Possible?

I need a reliable source. If there is no mouse/keyboard support on PS3, I will wait for PC.

I refuse to play any shooters on analog sticks.

Then they should do a PC release on time lol. Either way, if the game is good I want it.

While I would like a near same day release for the pc as well, I will be busy with other releases so it might not be so bad (B:AO,AC4,Watchdogs)

While they are at it, make a pc release of Red Dead Redemption too 🙂

As far as I'm aware, all the other GTA games made it to PC eventually. For some reason I missed out on San Andreas, but I've played and loved all the others from GTA3 onwards...never even tried one on console.

That doesn't mean it'll be consistent. Rockstar is wildly inconsistent with PC support and how good of a port it is. GTA4 made it but it was a poorly optimized port. Red Dead Redemption never made it to PC at all. Max Payne 3 was a great PC game.

They're all over the map... I don't know what to expect from them anymore.

I really, really, don't think RS needs to worry about sales whatsoever 🙂 This will likely be the most hyped and most sold game ever anyway.

However, I understand WHY a PC version would not be greatly *announced*.

I bought my 360 when GTA IV came out because I didn't want to wait for the PC version, and had a blast with it, especially multiplayer.

Thought about picking up V for my 360, but I'm sure it will be released on the next consoles, where it will be better with more power behind it. Perhaps further view distance and better graphics, but almost certainly less pop-in.

Having read and watched a dozen reviews, I'll definitely be getting it once the PC port is released. I only wonder what kind of port we will get. A 360/PS3 port is better than no port at all (RDR) but I'm hoping for a next gen port.

From the looks of what's out there and impressions from reputable sources, gameplay is more than good enough to overcome possible visual issues but if the PC version gets even half the attention MP3 got, it will be the icing on the cake.

worse part on both ps3 AND kb mouse combo on pc was the bogt eflc helicopter chase the terrorist on the speedboats sequence

Likely depends on how popular the next consoles get or at least not released any sooner than PC version in which case PC version will have mods and ENB. I'll take that version please.

This is no different than every GTA release since GTA III. The console versions are released 6-7 months prior to the PC version, this is how they've done things for the past two GTA games. That means, if GTA V is coming to PC it will be around March or so of next year.

yep. there's also the discovery of this in the config code files just a few days ago in the pirated gta v copies

they have likely been working on pc and next gen versions for a while now, and considering the new consoles closely similar architecture tp PC, the porting will probably not take anywhere close to a year or even half a year to complete. i wouldn't be surprised if we get a pc/next gen console announcement within in the next couple months and a release in december.

My guess is they didn't want to hurt current gen sales by announcing the next gen versions too quickly. With good enough reviews I was considering getting the current version, but now I feel pretty comfortable waiting for a ps4 version. I'm not sure if I agree that it's coming this same year, but it'll happen soon enough.

Had a fortunate event today, in which I made $1,000; totally out of the blue, so I figured wth and bought GTA 5 for the 360.

Wish it was on PC, but I'm enjoying it. Spent over an hour just driving/flying/walking around, and when I looked at the map... I had barely uncovered a small portion of it. It really is 'huge'. Far larger than other GTA games. You see the city on the maps, but what you don't realize, is that you can drive around that small portion of the map for a good long time...

Graphics remind me of Rage, where some textures would be ultra-low and blurry, while others looked good. A 'lot' of pop in and strange artifacts, like seeing the top of a tree rendered 3 miles distant, but not it's trunk. Overall though, it is quite beautiful. Remember the strange GTA 4 shadows? Well that seems to be applied to everything now, so as you pan your view, everything becomes grainy and blurry, which makes it look like a frame rate drop. Getting used to it, but wish I could turn that off.

The little things make this game though. As I was splashing through a stream exploring, the bugs were out, and the ambient sound (great) made it feel almost real in a sense. Don't know if it deserves the 10/10 it's been getting, but so far so great.

If I had a PS3 still, I would've probably buy it. My GF's Xbox 360 is still at my house, but she's been wanting it back since she's finally moved into her new apartment. She's a recent grad that just got a job, but live two hours away. So henceforth, I'm not going to bother buying GTAV. I feel weird these days not gaming on PC anyways, and it's too highly likely that it'll arrive on PC within the year.

I think *R not only wants to avoid losing sales on console and therefore platform relationships with Sony, MS, and customers, but also likes to define console games for the given period. Having a PC release of such a BIG game that so overshadows the quality of the console versions would bode badly and make 360 and PS3ers possibly bitter.
