GTA 5 to look way better on PC.

Well through some events a rig i had sold some time ago with a i5 2500 and a gtx770 ended up being given back to me for free. Went about putting GTA V back on it immediately lol.Well if you call 18 hours of downloading immediately.

The update they released did some magic,game simply runs beautifully and just dropping shadows and reflections to high,i was able to put on Very High Textures unlike before where i was locked to High if i recall on this 2gb 770.

I do have the advanced settings off,msaa off and have grass set to high and performance is stellar where i am actually cpu bound at this point lol.Everything but population variety is maxed.

Kudos to Rockstar,your apology for GTA 4 is accepted.

My son has been playing less and less GTA on the PC. He's saying that it's all just hackers now and while fun. it just gets annoying. Any truth to that?

The one and only time I played online some dude just up started giving me money. I assume he was hacking, it was a little unnerving regardless. Enough so that I haven't bothered playing online again.

Also there are some custom car models you can download linked on that youtube video. They look pretty good as well. Stuff like the LaFerrari, McLaren P1 with working spoilers and realistic interior designs.

This is why I PC game......
This is how the game should launch, it shouldn't take a massive project to overhaul the game to what the PC version should look like with actual real nice textures, then the downscaled ones for console. This is also why I despise paying for games sometimes on PC, when I know they're holding back effort.

I had no desire or care for an online component to the game. It feels like it was there for a piracy deterent rather than just improving the game, like a lot of "multiplayer" additions to singleplayer games and in some cases, single player being dropped all together.

The deers antlers stood out as low poly (clashes). The waters splashes on the boat looked like crappy rocket trail smoke from Quake III Arena and it didn't actually displace any water. The gravel didn't kick up and there was a straight-line intersection of the dust/ground (clearly not volumetric). The weird light pulses in the reflection at street level were distracting and not realistic. The water effect around the bikini babe was worse than Super Mario Sunshine on the Gamecube.

I haven't been impressed with modern graphic "advances." It isn't all about texture detail!

Yes and after testing it extensively it is way too dark. For example at night under a streetlight, anything hit by the light looks crisp and easy to see. Your character and anything in a shadow is way too dark, there is significant black crush in the image using this mod. Now I know there are settings you can adjust but I have no desire to go through them all to fix what should have been noticed by whoever made the settings.

Seems more and more games are slowly but surely benefiting from W10.I had it for a short time during Preview and BF4 showed quite a improvement over W7 for me.

Waiting a while before i switch to W10,i had a flock of issues doing the upgrade to W10 .My 2gb 770 and my given resolution is holding me back much more then anything at least in GTA V.

Runs reasonably well.Dropping the resolution down to something like 768p should keep vram usage under 1gb and may resolve some of those fps drops.

I had some stuttering and fps drops on a 1gb gtx650 if i pushed settings and vram pass 1gb.Results may vary but i know for me that certainly was the case.

Huh, best I could tell, this was the main GTA thread on AT, coulda sworn there was another but search not working to well I guess.

Anyways.. is it me or is rockstar changing the music up every couple of content patches? It seems like every 2-3 months I fire the game up, there is new music to be heard.

Also it seems like something changed recently with reflections. I'm not sure if a new one was added or an old one was nerfed to increase performance, but I notice on many large buildings that they exhibit the "cheap skybox" reflection effect, they are reflecting a single texture thats wrapped around it (invisible to player) that is static, instead of using actual world reflection. This cheap method looks bad cause the slightest camera angle change makes the reflection change wildly. I'm thinking this mirror effect is new and not a change but either way it is never mentioned in a patch notes.

It looks nice at the bottom of the reservoir.
