grunge is still cool

To me it was about doing what you want without caring about the repercussion.

I could never get over Corgans HORRIBLE singing. Chris Cornell was a great singer so was Eddie Vedder, Cobain had cool gravelly voice and Layne Staley was alright. But Corgan... ugh.

Ha, I remember in the early 90's when everyone said Grunge was crap. Music had died, the only good stuff was from 10 years before that.... etc etc.

It's the music that was "in" when you were a teen that will always be the best, in your opinion, or so it would seem.

A few years ago, I read something that said that in general, whatever music you listen to at age 25 is what you'll be listening to for the rest of you life. Essentially it said that's the point when most people stop developing taste for new music.

the thing about grunge/early alternative was it was a bried period when mainstream artists had sincerity. we haven't had that again, for the most part. even U2 are just posers now. there are some artists with sincerity, but they are few and far between.

tool and radiohead get radio play on Clear Channel stations and sell out arenas every time they tour. what's not mainstream about them? and when i say arena, i'm talking the same venues played by Britney Spears, Dave Matthews Band, etc.
