Smashing Pumpkins is grunge? LOL. I like to call it effeminate bald man whining rock.Originally posted by: IH8 Money
the point of grunge wasn't to be cool.
To me it was about doing what you want without caring about the repercussion.
But yes I still like it
I be listening to smashing pumpkins right now🙂

Zwan.. ugh. Smashing Pumpkins were good though. Shame they broke up.
I could never get over Corgans HORRIBLE singing. Chris Cornell was a great singer so was Eddie Vedder, Cobain had cool gravelly voice and Layne Staley was alright. But Corgan... ugh.Originally posted by: veggz

Ha, I remember in the early 90's when everyone said Grunge was crap. Music had died, the only good stuff was from 10 years before that.... etc etc.
It's the music that was "in" when you were a teen that will always be the best, in your opinion, or so it would seem.

A few years ago, I read something that said that in general, whatever music you listen to at age 25 is what you'll be listening to for the rest of you life. Essentially it said that's the point when most people stop developing taste for new music.

A lot of people will say grunge died with Nirvana. Still love it though.

Veggz, Tool and Radiohead are in no way mainstream dude.
Interesting fact though: Matt Groening the creator of The Simpsons went to Evergreen State College which was pretty much "Grunge University" back in the day.
