I noticed a few strange things. I can usually keep up against anyone on savage, with traction control on, and no breaking or stability assists. Automatic shifting as well. But, there will be 1 or 2 drivers that will pull ahead, and I can't catch up to them, they are godlike or whatever. It's usually players that excell in a certain type of race-event, like touring cars for example. Really weird if you ask me.
There's also a few tracks, including the Le Mans track, where driving without stability control ( prevents understeer ) really sucks, at least, with a keyboard it really sucks. You will NOT be able to take corners nearly as fast as the AI will, and you will simply lose to much time in doing so. I've won plenty of le mans races btw, but that's simply because I can outbrake them, take the lead position, and well, because the AI sucks, they will barely attempt a pass, so if you block them, no matter how slow you take a corner, they won't overtake you
Somtimes the AI is also really annoying, slamming into you when it's completely unnecesary. But overall, I enjoyed racing most of the races, because often enough the AI will also be pretty good, move out of the way if a collision is imminent, or they make mistakes just like anyone else, and the funny thing is, if you use a REPLAY, and a car crashed in front of you, it will NOT crash again, when you used the replay. Funny detail if you ask me ...
Graphics look good, game runs pretty smooth, it might be arcade like, but it can still be pretty realistic, if you don't use all the driving assists, and the physics/damage model are also pretty good ...
