grey or gray? How do you spell it?

"Gray" is more common in the US while "Grey" is more common in many other English-speaking countries.

Gray in the USA.

Those brits call it grey. Heck even Firefox knows it is supposed to be gray, not grey, it just underlined it in red

I still haven't made up my mind and often wondered. I'll read this thread and find out something, I guess.

I prefer disk to disc though, even though I see disc everywhere. Is it just me?

I said grey, but I don't know. I use whichever comes to mind first. I trip over "meter" and "metre", as well as "centre/center" all the time too.

Disc is for round ones like CDs DVDs etc... disk more for floppies and hard drives. At least, that's how I always thought of it <shrug>

I keep wanting to type it grey, but then when I look at it it seems wrong. If it doesn't matter so far as technical correctness I'm ok with either.

"Disk" is for all computer drives and media EXCEPT optical media/drives.

My motorcycle is Candy Plasma Blue. Don't you dare call it "Blue" or "Candy Thunder Blue." 😉
