I prefer disk to disc though, even though I see disc everywhere. Is it just me?

If you throw it its a disc (short for discus) if you in sert it it is a disk, short for diskette.

Grey is typically the Britsh spelling. AP stylebook calls for Gray.

You will encoutner other differences, such as color vs. colour. If you were writing for an American audience and used grey and colour, your editor should be frustrated with you.

Disc is for round ones like CDs DVDs etc... disk more for floppies and hard drives. At least, that's how I always thought of it <shrug>

"Disk" is for all computer drives and media EXCEPT optical media/drives.
Whut? My head is going to explode! :Q I think we should diskuss this further...

My motorcycle is Candy Plasma Blue. Don't you dare call it "Blue" or "Candy Thunder Blue." ;)

How about Candy Apple Blue? :D

That's how I make a distinction also.

I have spelled it Grey on documents, but my boss corrected me and asked where I got it from. :)

The older generation just isn't "global" enough.

I thought of it as magnetic=disk, optical=disc.
