What about getting a broom and sweeping the mofo out?
That's my preferred MO. But until he comes away from the china closet, we seem to be at a standoff. It's 95 degrees today. Guess I'll grab a beer and a broom and wait the sucker out. . .

That thing looks cool, I vote for keeping it as a permanent wall-pet.

i agree, call him andre and feed him crickets... 😛

i have a 4 foot iguana, if you can get close to him, just stand there for a while before grabbing him. they get a bit complacent if they get used to you being around them. i have small day geckos all over my house, we let them roam free. the dogs dont mess with them, and they keep the bugs dead. i did, however, bring a baby one to work by accident inside my laptop case last week. i kept him in there until i got home and let him go outside, but he kept jumping on my hand. while walking to the backyard he jumped off onto the kitchen floor, so now i have another behind the fridge that i cant reach... oops.

It is however one big ass lizard.
Did some quick research. As best as I can tell, this guy appears to be a Knight Anole. The markings and size of my new pet seem to fit the description.

Yes we call them Cuban Anoles. 🙂

Domesticated ones are a fair handful. I can only imagine a wild one. :Q

They can bite like iguanas and whip you with their tails. No real trama but be prepared if you handle it - wear gloves! A lizard bite that breaks the skin in no joke! I saw a guy that got bit by an iguana in St Thomas - very small break in the skin. No big deal right? Wrong! The next day his entire arm was swollen up and he had to be hospitalized. Don't play with the lizard!

sage advice there. my iguana bit the thumb of my ex wife (heehee) and wouldnt let go. after she thumped his head a couple times he got the point and let go (i wasnt home at the time) and she cleaned it out real good with antiseptic. your friend being hospitalized was the worst case scenario, most bites dont get that infected at all if you clean and dress it quickly. he wouldnt even go near my iguana after that.

but gloves are a good idea if youre not used to grabbing lizards.

Awwww, that's cute, teach him how to talk with an Australian accent and call him Geico.

OP, Desert Eagle, only solution.

Decided I needed to be the aggressor, so I took a long handled broom and gently prodded him out from behind the china closet. Left the patio door open. He took the hint and bolted right out the door. He's now hangin' on the wall outside, which is fine by me.
Pizza and wings for me, roaches for the anole. Everyone wins!

We have them here too.
You know they don't grow 15" long right? 8-9" max.
Here's a pic I just took. If this guy is 8", then my prick is 20". 🙂

I don't think that's a Green Anole... the markings / pattern is off.

Yep that is not a Green Anole. They don't get that big.

Hmmm. It doesn't look like the one in the pics. So I wonder just what the heck this thing is? Is this a Galapagos Island stowaway?

What state do you live in? You gots some big ass lizards roaming the place.
South Florida. These guys are pretty common. But not so in my damn dining room.

yeah, but they don't look native...maybe some exotic pet-owning asshole released a dozen or so of those monsters and they've started a nice little colony...
