if anything, there should be less choices.
lauryn hill?

What's wrong with Lauryn Hill.

I have to admit, I had to do a double take when I saw her name on here.

She had very nice verses on 'The Score' and 'The Miseducation Of...' and is better than most rappers out there. I think she's underrated.

yea she is good one thing that i always base a true Mc on is his/her freestyle skills and she is at the top

Rap = talentless BS = suckage.

Thank you, that is all I'd like to contribute to the topic.

Lauryn can spit ill, but she's not a rapper first. If you're going to include everyone who has ever laid a verse, then you're going to have to make your list a lot longer.

That said, it's hard to say one rapper is better than another; Talib Kweli does some of the best conscious rap out there, but I couldn't necessarily say he was better than 2Pac, even though a lot of Pac's music was thug life.

So... greatest in what sense? Album sales? Number of records dropped? Otherwise, this is just a popularity contest.

I don't see Sir Mix-A-Lot or any of the Beastie Boys on your list there. That makes your poll a big waste of time. Sorry man.

I used to know a ytcracket from awhile back. He actually was as close to a digital thug as you can really get.

omfg... completly forgot about q-tip and phife dawg from a.t.c.q.

since you mentioned butterfly, im a little surprised that no one has requested shock-g from digital underground. i know they wont get any votes, but a couple other people i like to listen to are murs of the living legends, phonte of little brother/foreign exchange, and one of my personal favorites: louis logic.
