If this had happened, I'd have seen the movie.
Yeah...like...obviously. The impacts were catastrophic.
Just saw this on five stories high, 70 feet wide IMAX screen. Absolutely amazing! Kind of had to remind myself to breathe several times when things got real tense.
Glad you had the right experience. Was it 3D?
Oh, yes. I thought it was well done. I dodged all the space debris and flinched when pieces came right at me and noticed that my husband was doing the same.
Not necessarily 3D effects but I thought it was cool when the electrical fire pieces broke off as globules (don't know if that would actually happen). Also when she cried and the tears left her face as weightless droplets.
Small fires burn in a spherical shape in zero G due to the lack of natural convection. So it was kind of close.

The tears, on the other hand, weren't quite right as surface tension would have kept them stuck to her face.

I thought you were going to link this one:

This water droplets he flung everywhere: They won't cause a problem?
A lot of tech, but this movie sucks. I'm 55 minutes in and rather die.
Now that it's out of theaters, it's hard to recommend it to someone unless they have a decent setup. It's the kind of movie where you have to be able to get immersed in it. If you don't feel like you're in space watching it, you're going to hate it.

Maybe it's a technological marvel or something, but the content itself sucks. The "science" is horrendous. Wanted to gouge my eyes out.
EDIT: Not only that, but Sandra plays some ditsy psychopath that can't control anything about herself. I don't think she would EVER get into space just based off a simple psychological examination alone. She's fucking crazy and has panic attacks the whole way through. She's worthless!
i was planning on watching a cam. might have to rethink that now![]()
I know, right? You can get a high quality 1080p bluray rip almost anywhere now.
Well, that was back in October when the movie just came out. If someone does watch a cam version of Gravity, I'd give it a 75% chance they won't like it. I actually don't think they should even sell it on DVD or VOD.
I watched it VOD and it was good, I pulled a chair in close to my 60 Plasma dead center and cranked up the music. I can see how it would of been amazing in 3d at the theaters tho.
