Graphing Calculators

I believe I had an HP48 back in college, and I've been using an HP49 in grad classes through the years. Either one can easily carry you through Calc 1 and 2, Trig, whatever. They can solve most any sort of equation you can throw at them. Even the HP48 was better than the TI89, the HP49 just kills it by comparison.

I think I heard HP stopped all calculator production though. You might be able to find some somewhere still, but they were like $200 when I got mine... Plus you wouldn't have the same interface as everyone else.

Why on earth would you need a graphing calculator for a geometry class? Hell, the only math-related class I've ever been in (Calc, Chem, Phys) that allowed graphing calculators was Stats.

Dude, invest in an 89, it's the last calculator you'll ever need unless you're going into finance... even then you can find the progs you need for free online.

And to answer your question, YES, the ti-89 will solve every problem you need to do in math up to calcalus. Yes, i said it, SOLVE.

I upgraded my long-abused TI-83+ to a TI-89 Titanium last year.

It'll solve anything I throw at it, and really helps when figuring out what to set my FSB at.
