nVidia 600 vs ATi 700 (two top end cards)

ATi 100 vs nVidia 200 (low end)
ATi 500 vs nVidia 600 (mid range)
ATi 700 vs nVidia 800 (top end)

ATi release
9200

9800

nVidia 200 vs ATi 200

So most of the time, when a company releases new GPU range, they top the opponents numbers by 100 (excet the latest releases by ATi which match)

Just felt like I'd post this observation, and see if anyone thinks there are any comments to be made

Very nice find. I think that maybe they do this on purpose and just not based on their own model numbers.

LOL. i can just imagine marketing people frantically coming up with numbers that just top the competition but don't seem "arrogantly high".

they started the insane number system, cept theirs never represented a step down in performance like nvidia and ati.
